How does your media product
represent particular social groups?

- What are the social groups in terms
of age, race, class, gender etc
We, as a group, decided that our film should
have an age rating of 18. The film does not really
centre on any particular social groups.
- Is gender represented in a
stereotypical way? For example men
dominant and women passive?
Gender within our film will not be hugely
stereotyped. We will of course have a dominant
male and a passive female, both a typical
character choice when it comes to horrors, but
we will also include characters that go against
the stereotype to try and “turn the tables”.
Although our opening consists of only males.
- How does this link to target
audience?
As I mentioned before, we gave the film an age
rating of 18. Other characteristics for our target
audience is just anyone who enjoys a zombie
film and that hopefully, with the genderquake,
we will attract more people who do not agree
with the stereotyping of genders. However,
during the opening sequence there will be no
female characters.
