This document provides an analysis of the media elements used in a student-created horror/thriller film project. It discusses how the location, camera work, sound, mise-en-scene, and editing were employed to develop conventions of the genre. The abandoned house location helped set the scene and atmosphere. A modified iPhone camera app provided dual perspectives and captured character emotions. Tension-filled music and sound effects advanced the narrative and engaged the audience. Typical teenage outfits and a dark, mysterious setting established the mise-en-scene. Faster cuts and jumpier shots during intense scenes aimed to make the audience feel panicked.
