Discipleship Of Mark And The Gospel Of Thomas
Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas
The roles of disciples play a very important part in developing the message of the gospels due to their
close relation to Jesus throughout the stories. To start to understand the importance of the disciples
first you have to understand the main purpose of the Gospels. The Gospels are written in order to
describe Jesus s life on earth before Heaven. They give people insight to who Jesus was and create a
stronger basis of belief in Jesus and God. In order to bring the Gospels to life they use the students of
Jesus or Disciples to project his teachings and stories. The disciples take on many different roles in the
varying gospels. They are students, friends, witnesses, observers, and worshipers of Jesus. Disciples
come in many different forms of people as well. During the stories of the Gospels, Jesus is essentially
walking along picking up new followers and experiencing new things with them. Throughout the
experiences, Jesus teaches the disciples and they grow and learn and as a result the reader grows and
learns as well. That is why the disciples play such a pivotal role in the comprehension of Jesus and
him as a person. It becomes evident when analyzing the different Gospels that Jesus relationship with
the Disciples is slightly changed in the varying texts. A noticeable difference in the development of the
disciple s relationship to Jesus is present specifically in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of
Thomas.

Libertine Values in the 18th Century
The succession of libertine values in the 18th century was in largely a result of the Puritan Movement
in the late 17th century, which brought in a trend of individualistic models for social engagement
(Willey 10). Furthermore this religious instability generated a new vein of philosophical thinkers and
revitalized the need for independent growth. During this time we see the introduction of several key
writers that provide a timestamp of the effects of libertine and individualistic values on the 18th
century including Wycherley, Locke, Rochester, Pope, and Pepys. Each writer provides a slightly
different take on the changes that occurred during this time period and by piecing together common
elements of each, a unified impression of the individual begins form. When the picture of the
individual is shaped, perspectives into the commonly held beliefs and criticisms begin to surface,
which foster a glimpse into 18th century life. One particular area of interest is how individuals in this
time period viewed the environment as new moral values began to take hold and the individual
became less concerned about the population (Willey 10). Individuals in the 18th century held the
environment to a higher degree of importance as is evident in the works of a number of writers and
their focus on the individual, religion and morality, and nature.
To begin, consider the account of the individual in the 17th in a time when a predominantly catholic
regime saturated the developed societies in

Essay On High School Accomplishments
The start of my high school career was an enormous accomplishment for me. Even if I had a lot of
different feelings overwhelming me. One of those feelings was fear, I was terrified to be in high
school. First off the school seemed like a whole new world, plus it was about 5x bigger than my
middle school, then all the other kids looked like grown adults and they were so much taller than I.
Also coming to high school meant more responsible. Which at the time I really wasn t ready to handle
that pressure. I had already had a stressful middle school from other things that were going on in my
life. So I didn t want to start it off like that again, so I tried my best to do everything different from my
8th grade year. Even though 8th grade was probably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I was cut it left pain in my chest in the beginning, but I told myself not to give up because even
Jordan was cut his freshman year, so I turned that pain and Sorrow into determination and Dedication.
On the school side of freshman year, it seemed easier than 8th grade in the first quarter, but the second
quarter hit me like a wrecking ball. I was drowning in school work to my neck and It seemed like
there was a new test in math class every day. As the year carried on I notice how me and my peers
wasn t taking our school work as important as we should have. I notice how I went from a great
student to a slacking one how I was just not doing homework or not trying to really learn. It didn t hit
me till it was coming close to the end of the third quarter and I was at a D+, when I seen that I knew I
wasn t putting my best foot forward and that I could have done better that quarter. Nonetheless I
pulled it together for those last three weeks, I had brought that grade back up, I finished the quarter
with a B+ instead of a D+. which was really a wake up call for me in my freshman year, it gave me a
new perspective and mindset for the rest of that

Learning English Is The Most Important And New Language
Learning new languages is the best way to communicate and keep in touch with the people who have
a language that is different from yours. Language is very important that each country has its own type
of language, and that language is special for the country itself. Learning new language helps the
people to connect with each other in an easy way in their life, thus they can chat, express and share
their understanding. Also, it is helpful for traveling and visiting to other countries, it is makes easier to
move around without any misunderstand of different things. Since you share your interest in a certain
language or the culture of its people, it strengthens the social relations and expression. In my story I

As we all know that English is the most important and common language. Mainly most of the
countries use English in their life because it helps a lot to communicate with the people around the
world. Kuwait schools offer subject specially for teaching and learning English. So when I was seven
years old, I learned the basic words and number without any grammar. Each year in my education
from primary to high school I learned the language from my teachers. When I graduated, I observed
that I have a lack of understanding English. I realized that I have no ability to understand the news,
songs also the movies with English language. I found it really very difficult. In my opinion, the
problem is because in our government schools here in Kuwait do not offer enough educate. To be
honest, they do not have the better skills to deliver the information for the students. Moreover, they do
not teach essential vocabularies that we need in our education. Of course that can cause a problem for
a student to misunderstanding the English language. I entered the university after I finish high school
but I found it difficult because of lacking of vocabularies. I was only understood by scanning and
catching the easy words. At least, I can understand the sentences by context. I tried to deal and come
over to my problem by myself by learning more, and improved my reading in books and translating
new English words to Arabic when I do not understand. Honestly, till now I

An Example Of The Salt March
An example of a non violent movement is the Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi. This march
happened in March 1930 in protest of the British rule. Thousands followed Gandhi for 240 miles to
the sea. Mahatma Gandhi thought that by breaking the British Salt Act, that Indians cannot collect or
sell salt, he could break the law without any violence. Because of the heavy taxes that the British
positioned on salt there was a mass civil disobedience and support for the salt march all around India.
Millions of civilians became involved and the British responded by arresting more than 60,000 of
them. Gandhi declared the Salt March as the theme for his new campaign, Satyagraha or Civil
Disobedience. Gandhi was released in 1931 and agreed to call of his campaign in exchange for a
negotiation role in a conference in London regarding India s future.
A non violent movement that occurred in 1919 was the protest against the Simon Commission. The
Simon Commission was a group of 7 English men sent from England to report how the Indian
Constitution was working. It was led by Sir John Simon and Clement Atlee, the future prime minister.
This commission appalled the Indians, as it had not a single Indian Member and that only foreigners

Exploration of Struggles with Credit Cards in Maxed Out by...
Credit cards have become increasingly popular world wide, making it easier to buy now and pay later
but are they actually helping or hindering someone s credit? Maxed Out by James D. Scurlock
demonstrates how credit cards can hurt someone s credit, while Why Won t Anyone give Me a Credit
Card by Kevin O Donnell demonstrates how someone may have financial stability to pay off a credit
card, but still be consistently denied one by the credit card companies. Owning credit cards is not the
problem; the problem is being irresponsible with it.
James D Scurlock s Maxed Out focused on the revolving use of credit cards to charge now and pay
later and the fact that once the credit card was maxed out another one was sent from the credit card
companies and the whole process begins all over again. Scurlock s essay made the reader aware of the
downfalls and hardships that can occur when credit cards are constantly used for purchases compared
to Kevin O Donnell s Why Won t Anyone give Me a Credit Card .
O Donnell s essay explored the opposite of Scurlock s, his essay was geared more towards the fact of
not owning a credit card prior to entering the professional world. He explored his point through an
educated professional man, who was constantly denied an unsecured credit card in spite of having a
full time employment, no monthly house payments, no finances owed to other lenders and no
dependents that need to be taken care of.
When looking at the effectiveness of both essays, one

The Core Arguments Of Hershey Company
The core arguments of Hershey Company in this case are very clearly stated. Senator Steve Hershey
used their company s Trade Dress on multiple campaign signs for multiple elections. In 2002, Mr.
Hershey was running for commissioner of Queen Anne s County in Maryland. He used a design for
his campaign that looked very similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper. The background was
brown, the lettering was white, and the font was bolded in all capital letters. In 2010, Steve Hershey
used a design that looked even more similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper than the one he had
used previously. This campaign sign had a brown background, white bolded font, all capital letters,
and included a white border. In 2014, Steve Hershey used a campaign logo with a two toned brown
Maryland flag background, his last name in all capital bolded letters, similar font, and underneath
read, state senate. Despite having the same name, Steve Hershey is not affiliated with The Hershey
Company in any way. The Hershey Company believed that Steve Hershey s use of their Trade Dress
could cause confusion amongst the general public. When the Hershey Company contacted Steve
Hershey for the first time in 2002, they wrote him a letter asking him to stop using the Hershey s
Trade Dress. In 2010, The Hershey Company contacted Mr. Hershey again and urged him to stop
using their Trade Dress, but they allowed him to use those campaign signs for the primary election
only. The Hershey Company and Mr.

Gay and Lesbian Rights
Today s Rights for Gays Lesbians Today s Rights for Gays Lesbians The state and federal laws for
Gay s and Lesbian are unfair and discriminatory. In today s ever so changing world it s hard to keep
up with laws. Most of the laws are printed on a fine line, but the rights for homosexuals are blurred.
With the topic being hot in the media it is hard to get the correct story. Two of the most important
rights that get blurred are marriage and same sex adoption. Same sex marriage is only legal in one
state in the US, Massachusetts. Other than Massachusetts only four other countries allow same sex
marriage. The Netherlands, Canada, Belgium and Spain. [pic] It is unknown how many countries

It also seems as if this is a reenactment of back in the 60 s when people were so harsh towards people
of color. Hopefully if gays and lesbians fight for years they will get the rights they deserve. Now for
my personal beliefs on same sex marriage. I think everyone should have the right to marry the person
they love regardless of age, color, gay or straight. We are all human beings; we shouldn t be placed
into categories based on who we love or what color our skin is. I know within the next 10 years there
will be no laws banning same sex marriage. Same sex couples adopting is another thing lawmakers
don t look so kindly on. Lawmakers seem to think the child will be raised to be homosexual. This is
not true. ..Studies show that children from same sex households have no more emotional or behavioral
problems than children of heterosexual parents (Traves, Spring 2005.Vol.8, Iss. 3; pg. 17) I do not
believe that most people against same sex marriage know or believe that particular study. Traves
(2005) also said that, others even suggests that children with same sex parents are more tolerant of
diversity than their peers and are highly affectionate, responsive and protective of younger children.
To me that made me think that would make the world a better place to live. Children of same sex
families would be better off. Most same sex families are well off. Meaning they own their own home,

During walking and running, leg muscles produce forces that impact the tibiofemoral joint. These
forces can have a negative impact on the development, health and maintenance of the cartilage and
meniscus in that joint (and increased load on the knees and the tibiofemoral joint can result in
osteoarthritis). The tibiofemoral load is varied depending on the muscle coordination patterns. The
laboratory created a musculoskeletal model of subject to analyze the tibiofemoral load, and an
optimization framework to calculate the load from muscle coordination. Using the model and
optimization framework, the laboratory was able to understand the impact of different muscle
coordination on the tibiofemoral load. The laboratory was able to precisely predict tibiofemoral forces
when compared to in vivo measurements during the early stance phase, but overshot its prediction
during the late stance phase. The over prediction of the tibiofemoral load was due to the extended
activity of the gastrocnemius and the rectus femoris. The laboratory was able to modify the activity of
these two muscles to increase resemblance with in vivo measurements. The laboratory was also able to
identify distinct changes in muscle activity that could decrease tibiofemoral load. A decrease in
activation of the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius and an increase in activation of the soleus, gluteus
medium and uniarticular hip flexors can decrease the tibiofemoral forces during late

Discussion:
The purpose of this research was to investigation the factors that contribute to conformity levels for
participants in year eleven. In group A, it is shown in figure 1 that the results between campaign
scores were relatively similar. Group A responded to the images in the same manner that participants
in Group B who did not receive any options from a third party. This indicates that whatever a
participates family size or sibling number was (how large or small) had an affect on the campaign
scores, making our hypothesis accepted. The hypothesis was correct as the results and data compiled
showed that the more siblings the higher campaign score would be.
The reliability of the data would not be as strong since the participants moods and/or personal
situation could vary if they were to do the experiment again, consequently changing their original
results and therefore altering the entire experiments finalised results. To improve the effectiveness of
the data, it might be better and more helpful to split into two groups based off of their moods and how
attentive they are in that time frame. If done correctly, it would help the results by making them more

Tyler uses violence as a tool for control frequently, specifically in Project Mayhem. In Project
Mayhem, the members, referred to as spacemonkeys, feel violence is necessary in achieving their

For example, whenever an authority stands between the spacemonkeys and their missions, they simply
castrate the opposition. In another example, spacemonkeys threaten to murder an individual at
gunpoint if they do not pursue their true aspirations in life. However, small petty acts of violence
escalade into much more violent, terrorist like attacks. In fact, Tyler wants to literally destroy every by

Joseph Stalin s Ignorance
On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon
Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather
than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance;
Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the
contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s
succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey as a supporter of the

Factors And Social Class In Great Expectations By Charles...
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens is a novel set in the Victorian Era, based around the growth
and development of a boy named Phillip Pirrip; nicknamed Pip. From convicts to lawyers, Dickens
makes multiple references, throughout the novel, about social classes and the impacts they have on Pip
s life as he grows up. At age eight, Pip is introduced to Miss. Havisham and Estella, who are both of
upper class. Upon the introduction of social classes into Pip s life, Pip s view of those surrounding him
changes, arguably for the worst. One theme present throughout the story is that being loyal and
kindhearted overweights social classes. Based on the development of Pip through the story, it can be
concluded that social classes played a large part in constructing who Pip later becomes. From the
lowest class, convicts and orphans, to the working class, Joe and Biddy, and finally reaching the
wealthy, Miss. Havisham; with each individual he meets, Dickens makes it a point to show how Pip
slowly loses his virtues in his search of gentility. As an orphan living with his sister and her husband,
the town blacksmith, Pip is shown as someone of a lower class. Even through the death of his parents,
being beat by his sister on a regular basis, and the negative reinforcement he constantly receives from
his relative: Pip is still portrayed as a child full of innocence. Joe is introduced as one, if not the only,
positive thing in Pip s life. In the story, Pip states, Young as I was, I

Under the control of Hitler from 1918 1939 Poland was under serious attack. Concentration camps
were being constructed and Poles were possible targets because, at the time, Poland was home to the
worlds largest Jewish population (Polish Diaspora). In 1939 Poland was invaded by Germany and was
put under the Soviet Union s control. One cultural aspect Poles like to exercises is their right to
freedom and to be different, but under the rule of the USSR it was very hard to express ones
individuality and religion. Communism called for unionism and the Poles disliked this way of life.
This lack of personal freedom handicapped the Polish culture, not allowing it to grow because many
Poles were not known as wealthy. Because Poland was lacking in artistic culture Paris became their
center for literacy and artistic expression (Barnett, 374). Many feared for their lives around this time
and fled to America in the 20 s, allowing for the spread of Polish values over seas. This is the main
cause of the Polish diaspora because many of the Poles immigrating to America were Jewish (Polish
Diaspora). During the communist reign a particular group, not like the Jewish Polish community, of
people called the Lemko s had ritual and folk dances that could not be performed because they feared
the government would catch them and punish them like they were to the Jewish Poles(Black, 47). It
was very important to this group of Polish people to continue there dances

Minority Report And Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Science fiction is like a prediction of a society s future. Sci Fi is shown in many different movies,

Technology, but also in medication and cloning. Sci Fi is a sort of science fiction. The films Invasion
of the Body Snatchers, I am Legend, and Minority report are science fiction, they show how our
society changes over time and how it is a conflict with the society s fear. Invasion of the Body

They use technology and other minds to distribute information throughout the Washington D.C. area
(Plot Summary). Minority Report is about three humans that can predict when a murder is going to
take place. There three humans are special because as kids, they were in terror of their own dreams.
They dreamed of murders that were going to happen. But the government sees it as a way to make the
community better. So, they brought all three of their special human beings together and began a
company that helps them picture murders before they actually happen. These dreams told the killer,
the victim, and the time the murder would occur but not the location. It would show the government
the items in the location, but not the exact location. The government would go out looking for this
criminal before the crime was committed. Ethical Concern was distributed through this film because
the going to be criminals could have made the choice not to kill the victim. John is a man whose son
was taken while they were at the town pool and his name came up as a murderer. John stole a precog,
the people that have the dreams, and she convinced him into not killing crow. The precrime business

murder more than once. But this is not because they want them to put more investigation into it, it is
because the murder that they first visiones of was suppose to happen and who the murderer is but it
never happened that way or by that person. The second vision shows the same vision but small details
are different but it is the same victim, they do not know who the actual killer is. Precrime was a

Punishment In Scarlet Letter
People that commit the same sinful act can have different punishments. In The Scarlet Letter written
by Nathaniel Hawthorne, he writes about a new Puritan colony in North America. The Puritans belief
in a Christian god was very strong and the community had extreme faith in their church officials. In
this colony, anyone who was believed to have committed a sin was punished harshly. The colony s top
reverend Arthur Dimmesdale commits an act of adultery with a beautiful woman Hester Prynne and

Changes In Goodnight Mr Tom
Goodnight Mr Tom directed by Jack Gold explores the changes William undertakes as the film
unfolds. William changes from being an anxious, hesitant boy to a person who is happy, confident.
Through the use of camera work, sound editing, and dialogue, the director has help develop the
understanding of William s changes not only through dialogue but also through visual effects. When
William is first sighted in the film, he is distinguished an anxious person. This can be seen in the
fireside scene where William is noticed with Mr Tom near the fireplace. After being pointed at with a
hot, glowing poker, has used reaction shots on numerous occasions of William which are all on a
slight high angle compared to the poker which is on a lower angle to resemble its dominance. The
reaction shots, accompanied by dark, intense music, convey the anxiousness of William. This sense of

In the country of men
In the Country of Men as a National Allegory
Hisham Matar presents In the Country of Men as a national allegory. This is done through metaphors,
personification, and characters relationships. His purposes for writing this novel were political. A
national allegory is any attribution of human characteristics to other animals, non living things,
material states, objects or abstract concepts, such as organizations or governments1 of a nation or its
people.2
Fredric Jameson, with ideas more suitable for the novel than Aijaz Ahmad, was first to think of
national allegory.3 Jameson states that third world literature must be a national allegory because of the

The crowd flowed together in a solid movement, influenced by the revolutionary committee s actions.
Those who associated with writers against the revolution were suspected of treason. If the crowd of

Kareem s family when his father was accused. The revolution moved as one and like a wave,

It was the only hope he could find in the revolution. I held the sea as my target, my paradise.....Low

He stays on the edge of society so he can escape the movement of the revolution. The motions of the

Matar uses personification to dehumanize characters. This shows that this novel is a national allegory.

Douglas MacArthur was a US soldier, born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. The son of a Union army
hero during the Civil War (they are the only father and son to win the Congressional Medal of Honor)
and a mother ambitious for his success, he trained at West Point (1903), rose steadily in the army, and
demonstrated his bravado on a secret mission to Mexico (1914). In World War 1 he commanded a
brigade in combat in France (1918), where he earned a reputation for bravery (wounded three times)
as well as foppery he carried a muffler and a riding crop into the line, but not a helmet or a gas mask.
After serving as the superintendent of West Point (1919 22), he completed his second tour of duty in

In 1942 5, as commander of the Southwest Pacific area (1942 5), he organized an island hopping
offensive that resulted in the return of US forces to the Philippines (Oct 1944). Supreme commander
of the Allied powers, he presided over the Japanese surrender (2 Sep 1945). As military governor of

adopt more democratic ways.
On the outbreak of the Korean War (Jul 1950), he became commander of United Nations forces in
Korea, in which capacity he directed the Inchon offensive that forced the invading North Koreans to
surrender most of their gains. When Chinese forces began fighting alongside the North Koreans in
November 1950, he forcefully advocated an extension of the war into China. This led to conflict with
President Truman, who relieved MacArthur from command (11 Apr 1951). This caused great
controversy; MacArthur returned home to the hero s welcome he had not yet enjoyed; and concluded
his address to Congress with his citation of an old military song, Old soldiers never die, they just fade

The documentary by Robert Sapolsky, Stress, Portrait of a Killer, (Stress: Portrait of a Killer

prolonged stress that we experience in our everyday lives, and situations that we expose ourselves to.
In the documentary Sapolsky travels to Africa, there he studies the baboons that live in the wild to see
how they live, react, and respond to their environment. Like humans, the baboons also have their own
social structures that determines who is the top baboon s are, and as the social structure declines what

Importance Of Internet Neutrality
In the United States the Internet is the first place that everyone goes to when they want to get
information. The Internet provides everything that anyone could possibly want and on the Internet
everyone is considered as equals. That can quickly all go away. The only way to keep the Internet the
way it is, is to preserve Internet neutrality. Internet neutrality, also known as network neutrality, is
defined broadly, is non discriminatory interconnectedness among data communication networks that
allows users to access the content and to run the services, applications, and devices of their choice
(Meinrath, Pickard 1). This means that the Internet is not restricted and the government or Internet
service providers have no rule over how the Internet is run or what people can and can t access over

Canada Economy Vs Mixed Economy Analysis
An economy is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services; the way an
economy is organized is called an economic system. There are three types of economic systems:
planned, market, and mixed. A planned economy is an economic system where the government
decides what should be produced, how much it should cost, and how much people should be paid. A
market economy is a type of economic system where there is competition and prices are set by supply
and demand. There is little government involvement. A mixed economic system is a mix of these two.
Canada is more of a planned economic system, leaning towards mixed, and the United States of
America (USA) is a market/mixed economic system. Many people believe that the economies of the
two countries should stay separate, but Canada and the USA would greatly benefit by banding
together and forming a market economy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The partnership between them would be stronger as well. Trade and other relations between the
countries would be reinforced, and there would be more trust. Having a common economic system
would help make things simpler. There would be less confusion about how the two countries are
operated. Since both countries depend on each other already, this would make it easier for all
agreements between them. A market system would work well for a common system between Canada
and the USA because it encourages employees to work harder so they can be a contributing member of
society. A market economy has competition, and that is part of why it succeeds. In a planned economy,
people can easily cheat the system by working the bare minimum and still getting paid, whereas in a
market economy the competition drives workers to do their best. The competition allows people to
thrive and move up the system, which is just what the two countries

Analysis Of Johnny Depp, By Edward Scissorhands
Johnny Depp, is one of the most talented physical actors of this age. His unique and often wacky
movements make each of his characters stand out. Most famous for his role as the ridiculous pirate
captain Jack Sparrow, form Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp is also widely known for a number of other
interesting characters in a number of other interesting shows, one of his earliest being Edward
Scissorhands, in Edward Scissorhands (1990). The expansion of Depp s use of physical movement is
tremendous between Edward Scissor hands ad Pirates of the Caribbean. And though they both differ
tremendously in personality and physicality, they still maintain the wacky persona that is so
characteristic of Johnny Depp. First let us analyze whether or not Depp centers each character. And
the answer is that he centers both, but each differently. Edward Scissorhands is very centered, but
definitely not comfortably centered. Although he stands erect, he stands with his head pulled back and
his back very stiff, and his adds to the bizarreness of his strange character. Who stands like that? No
one. It is interesting how just a little abnormality in posture can bring out abnormality in the entire
character. Additionally, the way that Depp centers Edward Scissorhands, with his head constantly
either pull back too far jutted forward in moments of interest add to the emotions of curiosity and
apprehension that are so strong in this character. Depp s second character, the famous Jack Sparrow, is

Future Of Journalism In Canada
If I had to predict the future of journalism in Canada, I would probably say that it will be characterized
by diversity of voices, high competition, professionalism, and versatility. Canada is one of the most
liberal and democratic countries when it comes to mass media and press, so I would assume this trend
will persist. Among positive trends in Canadian journalism, I would single out diversity, interactivity,
and professionalism. Diversity. The biggest media outlets in Canada are not censored by the
Government and are relatively free to provide honest, balanced, and unbiased coverage of events.
Many of these outlets have opinion writers or columnists who openly express their stance on politics,

99 per cent of journalists who work for news outlets have their own Twitter account where they

most Canadian news outlets and journalists adhere to the code of ethics and report the news in a
timely manner, with a lot of attention to detail and without any bias. Professionalism is reflected in the
quality of reports mainstream news sources and large newsrooms provide balanced and concise
reporting of events. Among negative trends in Canadian journalism I would name competitiveness,
low quality of content, and sponsored content (native advertising). Competitiveness. Based on my
observation, the amount of freelance writers, journalists, and communicators is steadily increasing.

In this film, the music build up and sometimes is the voice of the actors and actresses. As the music
speeds up, your heart starts to skip a beat and as the music slows down your heart because steady. The
sound of this film is not just the music, but the noise of the door opening, the crunch of her bite that
makes the audience cringe, and the noise of everything falling down as the father is thrown back on
the bed (lamps, the door shaking, the click of the lock etc.). This all adds up in a film. The director
chose to use something different to make the music, he chose to use the props in the scene to make the
majority of the music and just have a base in the background. These special elements give the
audience a response and make the viewers want to continue watching.
In conclusion, to make a successful scary movie special effects are important. They make the audience
want to watch the movie because everyone loves drama. The visual aspect, suspense and music all
play a role and come together to make this movie want to be viewed. Dawn of the Dead is a great
dramatic film directed by Zack Snyder that people who enjoy scary movies should

Importance Of Propaganda In Journalism
Propaganda Propaganda regards truth and reality. It is deceptive, purposely less than honest, biased,
devoid of a sense of fairness. It attempts to manipulate someone s ideas, actions and attitudes.
Propaganda can be used in journalism by manipulating the story to be exaggerated or simply false. A
journalist or public relations specialist could use a false or photo shopped image in a
newspaper/webpage to sway their audience into thinking the subject of their story is true and not to
their audiences knowledge it has been manipulated.
Semantics Semantics studies how words came to be and what they mean. In a journalistic setting when
covering a story, be sure of what you are actually portraying and what you re trying to say. There are
clear distinctions between what reporting, inferences, and judgements are.
Communitarianism Communitarianism has emphasis on society and the larger majority of a group. In
journalism or public relations and individual would look at what brings people together. For example
(fiction), covering a story about how MSU s Homecoming parade brought helping hands together as
participants prepared to rain proof their floats last minute, which made for a successful homecoming
parade. A non Communitarianism could have reported how the rain ruined the parade and many
townspeople were outraged by the cities/schools decision to cancel the parade.
Libertarianism Libertarianism has emphasis on the individual. In public relations, by having a

The Political Party Of The United States Of America
The nature of the political party system in the United States of America, the oldest democracy in
existence, is that the majority party rules. In essence, of the two major contemporary political parties
that has a preponderance of votes wins the majority seat or as it is called the winner takes all system
and the party that loses takes the minority seat and gets little to no power in the political arena. As a
result, there is no representation for any other political party as long as the Democrats and the
Republicans remain synergized. Thereupon, we have two almost ideological opposing parties that
work together to dominate the political arena in the United States of America. Moreover, the question
that arises is this an advantage or disadvantage? Well the answer is both, the major advantage is that
no additional radical parties other than the two unified parties can dominate and create chaotic or
disastrous reform. On the other hand, the major disadvantage is that a voter has only two choices
because all the other small parties cannot compete with the two major contemporary parties voting
power so if both major parties have displeasing candidates the vote has to choose from the less
distasteful of the two chooses. The dangers of a two party system is that if one of the parties has a
mishap and lose its standing, then it is a tyrannical one party system that will allow the regional power
to run that local area through capital and no agencies to defend that individuals

Improv Satire
This is the most underrated film of 2016. It s perfect for anyone feeling a bit lost, looking for a laugh,
or suffocating under the weight of career failure. (Guess who s three for three?)
The story follows a group of friends that work together as an improv troupe at a sinking theater.
Improv can often come with the stigma of being awkward and unfunny, but the improv scenes are
some of the strongest throughout the entire film. Although the humor does fall flat in some spots
(sometimes people just need to know when to let it go and move on) overall the jokes are funny and in
good taste. Most are situational rather than offensive.
Past all of that, what makes the movie spectacular are the people, relationships, and the messages sent.

Sometimes a wrench can be thrown into your plans and where you end up may not be where you
thought you d end up in a million years. However, like one of the first rules of improv, going with the
flow is the best way to live an unpredictable life. It s important to dream big and have goals, but one
person s dream is not always another s. Sometimes staying in a small improv troupe with friends is a
better life path than making it onto national television, and that s okay. There s more than one road to
happiness.
It also shows that on the road to living your best life, sometimes people or things can get left behind.
Change is good, people have different goals, and even though it can hurt, sometimes you have to leave
someone behind in order to move both of your lives forward. Although every character began with the
same goal and only two actually reached it, each character s ending felt fitting and fulfilling. There s
more than one path to happiness and success in life, and this movie showed it well.
Overall, as someone who s going with the flow but has no idea where life is taking me, this movie was
a comfort and a learning tool. The rules of improv are universal and great life advice that I m working

A Prayer For Owen Meany Analysis
How many people are willing to practice their own death? Not many, right? It sounds strange, but one
person in particular was eager to do just that Owen Meany. In John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany,
Owen makes many sacrifices, his biggest sacrifice being his own life. In the beginning of the novel,
Owen comes across as slightly different with his minuscule size and high pitched voice, but as the
novel progresses and Owen ages, his inhuman qualities become more and more prevalent, eventually
leading to the biggest indicator of all his death. In the novel, Owen Meany is willingly able to plan the
sacrifice of his own life in order to save the lives of others, showing he is a supernatural being. Owen
Meany was predestined to be a savior for the Vietnamese children and he had been preparing for this
sacrifice his entire life. From the time he was born, Owen was always special. His parents admitted
that he was unnatural when Mr. Meany exclaimed, She just conceived a child like the Christ Child.
(Irving 545). This shows that Owen s parents did not purposefully conceive him, but he was born for a
greater purpose. Later on in Owen s life, he has a vision of his grave and how he will die, which leads
him to prepare for his death. He saw his death so vividly, he knew Johnny would be present, therefore
he involves Johnny in his practice. Johnny explains, We practiced the shot for three or four days in a
row; of course, my part in this exercise was extremely limited, but I

Olaudah Equiano Class Structure
Everyone comes from a different background and lives in different situations, but copious amounts of
people don t understand what they haven t experienced. In early American slavery and Puritan society,
class structure and religion leads to the unfair treatment of some individuals due to an inability to
understand those living in dissimilar situations, or with differing backgrounds. How others treat
people as a result of their living situation or background molds the way a person thinks through class
structure and religion as viewed in Puritan society and early American slavery. In early American

In The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, Equiano s religion helps him through his
journey, but the Europeans don t understand how, as they have never practiced or experienced his
religion. Equiano uses his knowledge of his religion to help him understand information he is
unfamiliar with, I asked how the vessel could go? They told me they could not tell; but that there was
cloth put upon the masts by the help of ropes I saw, and then the vessel went on; and the white men
had some spell or magic they put in the water when they liked, in order to stop the vessel (Pg. 87 lines
64 69). In Equiano s religion, magic is a common belief. He doesn t actually understand the mechanics
of the ship, so he uses what is familiar to him his religion to help him understand. The Europeans don
t legitimately know how the boat works, but they don t use their religion to help them, they just don t
think about it. They can t understand why he would believe in magic or spirits or let them explain how
concepts work as they have never experienced his religion, and Christianity is all they know. In The
Crucible, Tituba comes from Barbados and a different religion that highly contrasts with the strict
Puritan religion, and though she claims to have fully converted, there are still elements the officials of
Salem don t understand about her or her religion. Tituba and Sarah Good tell Herrick that they re
going to Barbados, but he thinks they mean in death, so he describes it as Hell. Tituba corrects him
and says, Oh, it be no Hell in Barbados. Devil, him be pleasure man in Barbados, him be singin and
dancin in Barbados (Pg. 122). Puritans recognize the Devil as the worst possible entity one could
encounter. They believe the Devil sends out witches to do his bidding, and force them sign his book.
Unlike the Puritans, Tituba regards the

Indonesia Needs Sex Education in Order to Combat Unwanted...
A. Reproductive health services have and currently do struggle against obstacles including religious
beliefs, governmental policies, educational shortcomings, and governmental financial circumstances.
With the increase in reproductive health medicine and technology, an increase for the global standard
of living, and women s rights movements worldwide, global access to reproductive health services is
becoming more and more of a priority. Topics such as abortion and form of contraception are highly
debated. Indonesia is the world s most populous Muslim majority nation, with almost 86.1% of
Indonesians declared Muslim according to the 2000 census. 8.7% of the population is Christian, 3%
are Hindu, and 1.8% Buddhist or other ( Demographics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will help prevent infant fatalities, infant malnourishment, and maternal fatality during birth.
C. Indonesia s proposition to achieve these goals and to provide global access to reproductive health
services is quite simple. The committee should make a resolution which requires governments to
create and fund a board which is given the task to provide the citizens of the country (ranging from
youths to young adults to adults to the elderly) with adequate education in relation to sexual
intercourse and the consequences of intercourse and all other sex related issues. The board would also
provide various contraceptives for either free (funds permitting) or as discounted as possible. The
board would have to provide various contraceptives in order to meet the standards of the individual
receiving the contraception s religious beliefs. This would help significantly reduce sexual related
problems seen in today s world, such as abortion, STDs, and unwanted pregnancy.
Topic #2
A. It is easy for large countries with powerful governments to abuse their rights to eminent domain
when given the task of hosting a mega event such as the Olympic Games or FIFA World Cup. In the
past countries have abused this right and found ways around the current international laws that protect
the property rights of the people of the nation. The countries have not provided equal compensation

Alan Kingston s No Name Woman
No Name Woman begins with You must not tell anyone, a powerful statement leading into the story of
an aunt the narrator s family has erased the existence of. This short story provides the readers with a
better understanding of traditional Chinese culture and the role of women in their society. Throughout
the story, the narrator provides the reader with information about Chinese culture and the role women
play in it. This first sentence reveals the secretive nature of Chinese society. The narrator s mother
starts and ends a short retelling of her aunt s story with reminders to keep it a secret. While the
narrator never explicitly states this, it is also clear that China has a strong patriarchy. When talking
about marriage, the narrator says that a synonym for marriage in Chinese is taking a daughter in law
(Kingston, 5). Furthermore, she goes on to speculate whether the fate of her aunt and baby would have
been different if the baby was a boy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

hurled at her aunt, who is very much alive at this point in her narrative. The narrator also calls her aunt

someone no longer living. However, in No Name Woman, the narrator uses the term with a different
meaning in mind. The word has been used as a label for outcasts. While I do not know whether this
new version of ghost is specific to China or not, it is clear that the narrator views it in a negative light.
Her use of the word could almost be described as

The United States And Canadian Magazine Dispute
The United States and Canadian magazine dispute was a reaction to the U.S. company Time Warner s
circumvention of Canada s outdated trade laws. In 1965, Canadian tariff code 9958 was created to
prohibit the physical importation of foreign split run periodicals and magazines (Thomas, 1998). As
satellite technology was introduced into the world of publication, in 1993, the U.S. company Time
Warner was able to send the contents electronically via satellite across the border to a Canadian
printer. Time Warner began printing split run Canadian Sports Illustrated issues. While the electronic
border crossing was against the spirit of the 9958 Canadian tariff code, the wording did not prohibit
the new technology. Instead of amending tariff code 9958, the Canadian government, in 1995, used
Bill C 103 to set an 80% tax on split run advertisements; thereby, ending split run publications
(Thomas, 1998). The Canadian government was primarily focused on protecting its small market
domestic publications. The 80% tax from Bill C 103 was not intended to create revenue; instead, it
was an extreme preventative measure to prevent the proliferation of foreign publications. The
Canadian government was also reacting to the sneaky methods used by Time Warner to print split run
magazines in Canada via satellite communication and circumvent the spirit of the tariff codes that
govern imports. Had Time Warner approached Canada with information about trends in
communication, perhaps the World Trade

families and communities within different cities. These programs help provide our youth with positive
leadership skills along with physical and mental development. While these youth sports programs

and more lawsuits being filed. This paper will examine a case involving a youth sports injury due to

There was one case that was very interesting to me and in a way pertains to the type of business I am
pursing to open upon my degree completion. Here is a brief summary of the case of Leahy vs. The
School Board of Hernando County in 1984. Leahy a football player, who was a freshman at the time,
did not receive proper football equipment due to the school did not have enough equipment for all
participants of the football program. Without the required equipment, helmet and mouth guard, the
player was still expected to partake in what was called non aggressive quickness drills against other
players with the required equipment. There were other players that attempted the drill, but Leahy was
the first player to attempt the drill without protective equipment. The case reports that Leahy claimed
that there were no special instructions given to players that had equipment versus players that had no
equipment. As Leahy attempted the drill, he suffered facial injuries and shattered his front teeth. The
case reports that this was caused by the aggressiveness that had developed over time by all players
involved and also the impact of the

Review Of The Great White Man
Getting back to the idea of how music plays an important role in this film, however, we must see how
Schweitzer s authority is challenged. Schweitzer tries to drown out the African boy s drumming with
his organ, but the drumming persists. The African boy, Higginson argues, is trying to invite Schweitzer
to a musical dialogue. However, the Great White Man refuses to hear the drum s musical offering; yet,
the drum responds to the rhythm of the keyboard. The part where the colonial powers influenced this
boy is when Schweitzer gives this boy a trumpet to play instead of the drum as a Christmas present.
On a more positive note, Higginson argues that on the day that Gabon achieves independence, the
trumpet player frees himself from the Great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dieng, unable to read, signs contracts that he does not know for sure what exactly they entail. He even

order to get an identity card, according to Sarah L. Lincoln in her article titled Consumption and
Dependency in Mandabi , he needs he needs a birth certificate, three photographs and fifty cents.
Another impact of colonialism is that cities like Dakar have no employment opportunities. Abdou has
gone to Paris and picks up a working class job as a street sweeper. He has also gone to Paris in order
to be educated in trade. He works all day and studies at night according to Lincoln. This is just one
example of many in which Africans see Europe as a land that has much more opportunities. Even
when Africans do live in European countries, they are not usually thriving so much, as evident by the
fact that Abdou is working a modest, low paying job and he is not having a very nice time in Paris.
Still, like many, he is willing to sacrifice his enjoyment for a while in order to have a better future.
Senegal has also adopted a credit system that exists in the western world. According to Lincoln,
Sembene argues that paying on credit can ruin a family financially, which is shown by the end of the
film when Dieng s and his family lose even their house.

Cesar Chavez Nonviolent Resistance Summary
Cesar Chavez argues about the importance of using nonviolent resistance to achieve change in society.
His use of historical allusions, pathos, and logos leave his audience with little doubt as to the proper
course of action. Further on in the article, Chavez adds power to his contentions with implications.
The boycott, Gandhi taught, is the most nearly perfect instrument of nonviolent change. This
implication to Gandhi, a notable and regarded advocate for serene resistance, adds validity to Chavez
contention by suggesting that Gandhi would have concurred with and bolstered Chavez claims.

  • 2. Discipleship Of Mark And The Gospel Of Thomas Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas The roles of disciples play a very important part in developing the message of the gospels due to their close relation to Jesus throughout the stories. To start to understand the importance of the disciples first you have to understand the main purpose of the Gospels. The Gospels are written in order to describe Jesus s life on earth before Heaven. They give people insight to who Jesus was and create a stronger basis of belief in Jesus and God. In order to bring the Gospels to life they use the students of Jesus or Disciples to project his teachings and stories. The disciples take on many different roles in the varying gospels. They are students, friends, witnesses, observers, and worshipers of Jesus. Disciples come in many different forms of people as well. During the stories of the Gospels, Jesus is essentially walking along picking up new followers and experiencing new things with them. Throughout the experiences, Jesus teaches the disciples and they grow and learn and as a result the reader grows and learns as well. That is why the disciples play such a pivotal role in the comprehension of Jesus and him as a person. It becomes evident when analyzing the different Gospels that Jesus relationship with the Disciples is slightly changed in the varying texts. A noticeable difference in the development of the disciple s relationship to Jesus is present specifically in the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Libertine Values in the 18th Century The succession of libertine values in the 18th century was in largely a result of the Puritan Movement in the late 17th century, which brought in a trend of individualistic models for social engagement (Willey 10). Furthermore this religious instability generated a new vein of philosophical thinkers and revitalized the need for independent growth. During this time we see the introduction of several key writers that provide a timestamp of the effects of libertine and individualistic values on the 18th century including Wycherley, Locke, Rochester, Pope, and Pepys. Each writer provides a slightly different take on the changes that occurred during this time period and by piecing together common elements of each, a unified impression of the individual begins form. When the picture of the individual is shaped, perspectives into the commonly held beliefs and criticisms begin to surface, which foster a glimpse into 18th century life. One particular area of interest is how individuals in this time period viewed the environment as new moral values began to take hold and the individual became less concerned about the population (Willey 10). Individuals in the 18th century held the environment to a higher degree of importance as is evident in the works of a number of writers and their focus on the individual, religion and morality, and nature. To begin, consider the account of the individual in the 17th in a time when a predominantly catholic regime saturated the developed societies in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Essay On High School Accomplishments The start of my high school career was an enormous accomplishment for me. Even if I had a lot of different feelings overwhelming me. One of those feelings was fear, I was terrified to be in high school. First off the school seemed like a whole new world, plus it was about 5x bigger than my middle school, then all the other kids looked like grown adults and they were so much taller than I. Also coming to high school meant more responsible. Which at the time I really wasn t ready to handle that pressure. I had already had a stressful middle school from other things that were going on in my life. So I didn t want to start it off like that again, so I tried my best to do everything different from my 8th grade year. Even though 8th grade was probably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was drowning in school work to my neck and It seemed like there was a new test in math class every day. As the year carried on I notice how me and my peers wasn t taking our school work as important as we should have. I notice how I went from a great student to a slacking one how I was just not doing homework or not trying to really learn. It didn t hit me till it was coming close to the end of the third quarter and I was at a D+, when I seen that I knew I wasn t putting my best foot forward and that I could have done better that quarter. Nonetheless I pulled it together for those last three weeks, I had brought that grade back up, I finished the quarter with a B+ instead of a D+. which was really a wake up call for me in my freshman year, it gave me a new perspective and mindset for the rest of that ... Each year in my education from primary to high school I learned the language from my teachers. When I graduated, I observed that I have a lack of understanding English. I realized that I have no ability to understand the news, songs also the movies with English language. I found it really very difficult. In my opinion, the problem is because in our government schools here in Kuwait do not offer enough educate. To be honest, they do not have the better skills to deliver the information for the students. Moreover, they do not teach essential vocabularies that we need in our education. Of course that can cause a problem for a student to misunderstanding the English language. I entered the university after I finish high school but I found it difficult because of lacking of vocabularies. I was only understood by scanning and catching the easy words. • 7. An Example Of The Salt March An example of a non violent movement is the Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi. This march happened in March 1930 in protest of the British rule. Thousands followed Gandhi for 240 miles to the sea. Mahatma Gandhi thought that by breaking the British Salt Act, that Indians cannot collect or sell salt, he could break the law without any violence. Because of the heavy taxes that the British positioned on salt there was a mass civil disobedience and support for the salt march all around India. Millions of civilians became involved and the British responded by arresting more than 60,000 of them. Gandhi declared the Salt March as the theme for his new campaign, Satyagraha or Civil Disobedience. Gandhi was released in 1931 and agreed to call of his campaign in exchange for a negotiation role in a conference in London regarding India s future. A non violent movement that occurred in 1919 was the protest against the Simon Commission. • 8. Exploration of Struggles with Credit Cards in Maxed Out by... Credit cards have become increasingly popular world wide, making it easier to buy now and pay later but are they actually helping or hindering someone s credit? Maxed Out by James D. Scurlock demonstrates how credit cards can hurt someone s credit, while Why Won t Anyone give Me a Credit Card by Kevin O Donnell demonstrates how someone may have financial stability to pay off a credit card, but still be consistently denied one by the credit card companies. Owning credit cards is not the problem; the problem is being irresponsible with it. James D Scurlock s Maxed Out focused on the revolving use of credit cards to charge now and pay later and the fact that once the credit card was maxed out another one was sent from the credit card companies and the whole process begins all over again. Scurlock s essay made the reader aware of the downfalls and hardships that can occur when credit cards are constantly used for purchases compared to Kevin O Donnell s Why Won t Anyone give Me a Credit Card . O Donnell s essay explored the opposite of Scurlock s, his essay was geared more towards the fact of not owning a credit card prior to entering the professional world. • 9. The Core Arguments Of Hershey Company The core arguments of Hershey Company in this case are very clearly stated. Senator Steve Hershey used their company s Trade Dress on multiple campaign signs for multiple elections. In 2002, Mr. Hershey was running for commissioner of Queen Anne s County in Maryland. He used a design for his campaign that looked very similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper. The background was brown, the lettering was white, and the font was bolded in all capital letters. In 2010, Steve Hershey used a design that looked even more similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper than the one he had used previously. This campaign sign had a brown background, white bolded font, all capital letters, and included a white border. In 2014, Steve Hershey used a campaign logo with a two toned brown Maryland flag background, his last name in all capital bolded letters, similar font, and underneath read, state senate. Despite having the same name, Steve Hershey is not affiliated with The Hershey Company in any way. The Hershey Company believed that Steve Hershey s use of their Trade Dress could cause confusion amongst the general public. When the Hershey Company contacted Steve Hershey for the first time in 2002, they wrote him a letter asking him to stop using the Hershey s Trade Dress. In 2010, The Hershey Company contacted Mr. Hershey again and urged him to stop using their Trade Dress, but they allowed him to use those campaign signs for the primary election only. In today s ever so changing world it s hard to keep up with laws. Most of the laws are printed on a fine line, but the rights for homosexuals are blurred. With the topic being hot in the media it is hard to get the correct story. Two of the most important rights that get blurred are marriage and same sex adoption. It also seems as if this is a reenactment of back in the 60 s when people were so harsh towards people of color. Hopefully if gays and lesbians fight for years they will get the rights they deserve. Now for my personal beliefs on same sex marriage. I think everyone should have the right to marry the person they love regardless of age, color, gay or straight. We are all human beings; we shouldn t be placed into categories based on who we love or what color our skin is. I know within the next 10 years there will be no laws banning same sex marriage. Same sex couples adopting is another thing lawmakers don t look so kindly on. Lawmakers seem to think the child will be raised to be homosexual. This is not true. ..Studies show that children from same sex households have no more emotional or behavioral problems than children of heterosexual parents (Traves, Spring 2005.Vol.8, Iss. 3; pg. 17) I do not believe that most people against same sex marriage know or believe that particular study. Traves (2005) also said that, others even suggests that children with same sex parents are more tolerant of diversity than their peers and are highly affectionate, responsive and protective of younger children. To me that made me think that would make the world a better place to live. Children of same sex families would be better off. Most same sex families are well off. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During walking and running, leg muscles produce forces that impact the tibiofemoral joint. These forces can have a negative impact on the development, health and maintenance of the cartilage and meniscus in that joint (and increased load on the knees and the tibiofemoral joint can result in osteoarthritis). The tibiofemoral load is varied depending on the muscle coordination patterns. The laboratory created a musculoskeletal model of subject to analyze the tibiofemoral load, and an optimization framework to calculate the load from muscle coordination. Using the model and optimization framework, the laboratory was able to understand the impact of different muscle coordination on the tibiofemoral load. The laboratory was able to precisely predict tibiofemoral forces when compared to in vivo measurements during the early stance phase, but overshot its prediction during the late stance phase. The over prediction of the tibiofemoral load was due to the extended activity of the gastrocnemius and the rectus femoris. The laboratory was able to modify the activity of these two muscles to increase resemblance with in vivo measurements. The laboratory was also able to identify distinct changes in muscle activity that could decrease tibiofemoral load. A decrease in activation of the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius and an increase in activation of the soleus, gluteus medium and uniarticular hip flexors can decrease the tibiofemoral forces during late ... I had no prior experience with meditation neither visualization and had was still unsure of how the learning experience would turn out. However, this particular violin sonata is different than the other two; the emotions of this piece are more agitated and compromised with Brahms s undying emotions for Clara. This indicates that whatever a participates family size or sibling number was (how large or small) had an affect on the campaign scores, making our hypothesis accepted. The hypothesis was correct as the results and data compiled showed that the more siblings the higher campaign score would be. The reliability of the data would not be as strong since the participants moods and/or personal situation could vary if they were to do the experiment again, consequently changing their original results and therefore altering the entire experiments finalised results. To improve the effectiveness of the data, it might be better and more helpful to split into two groups based off of their moods and how attentive they are in that time frame. Even in our daily lives, when encountered a conflict, we humans want to make it disappear as quick as possible. We do this by using violence unconsciously, whether it is verbally or physically. To the same effect, in his novel Fight Club, Palahniuk reveals violence to be an inescapable cycle. Tyler uses violence as a tool for control frequently, specifically in Project Mayhem. In Project Mayhem, the members, referred to as spacemonkeys, feel violence is necessary in achieving their goals of anarchy. The actions begin with simple destructive attacks on specific individuals or things. For example, whenever an authority stands between the spacemonkeys and their missions, they simply castrate the opposition. In another example, spacemonkeys threaten to murder an individual at gunpoint if they do not pursue their true aspirations in life. However, small petty acts of violence escalade into much more violent, terrorist like attacks. • 18. Joseph Stalin s Ignorance On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance; Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. • 19. Factors And Social Class In Great Expectations By Charles... Great Expectations by Charles Dickens is a novel set in the Victorian Era, based around the growth and development of a boy named Phillip Pirrip; nicknamed Pip. From convicts to lawyers, Dickens makes multiple references, throughout the novel, about social classes and the impacts they have on Pip s life as he grows up. At age eight, Pip is introduced to Miss. Havisham and Estella, who are both of upper class. Upon the introduction of social classes into Pip s life, Pip s view of those surrounding him changes, arguably for the worst. One theme present throughout the story is that being loyal and kindhearted overweights social classes. Based on the development of Pip through the story, it can be concluded that social classes played a large part in constructing who Pip later becomes. From the lowest class, convicts and orphans, to the working class, Joe and Biddy, and finally reaching the wealthy, Miss. Havisham; with each individual he meets, Dickens makes it a point to show how Pip slowly loses his virtues in his search of gentility. As an orphan living with his sister and her husband, the town blacksmith, Pip is shown as someone of a lower class. Even through the death of his parents, being beat by his sister on a regular basis, and the negative reinforcement he constantly receives from his relative: Pip is still portrayed as a child full of innocence. Joe is introduced as one, if not the only, positive thing in Pip s life. In the story, Pip states, Young as I was, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One cultural aspect Poles like to exercises is their right to freedom and to be different, but under the rule of the USSR it was very hard to express ones individuality and religion. This lack of personal freedom handicapped the Polish culture, not allowing it to grow because many Poles were not known as wealthy. • 35. Canada Economy Vs Mixed Economy Analysis An economy is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services; the way an economy is organized is called an economic system. There are three types of economic systems: planned, market, and mixed. A planned economy is an economic system where the government decides what should be produced, how much it should cost, and how much people should be paid. A market economy is a type of economic system where there is competition and prices are set by supply and demand. There is little government involvement. A mixed economic system is a mix of these two. Canada is more of a planned economic system, leaning towards mixed, and the United States of America (USA) is a market/mixed economic system. A market system would work well for a common system between Canada and the USA because it encourages employees to work harder so they can be a contributing member of society. A market economy has competition, and that is part of why it succeeds. • 36. Analysis Of Johnny Depp, By Edward Scissorhands Johnny Depp, is one of the most talented physical actors of this age. His unique and often wacky movements make each of his characters stand out. Most famous for his role as the ridiculous pirate captain Jack Sparrow, form Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp is also widely known for a number of other interesting characters in a number of other interesting shows, one of his earliest being Edward Scissorhands, in Edward Scissorhands (1990). The expansion of Depp s use of physical movement is tremendous between Edward Scissor hands ad Pirates of the Caribbean. And though they both differ tremendously in personality and physicality, they still maintain the wacky persona that is so characteristic of Johnny Depp. First let us analyze whether or not Depp centers each character. And the answer is that he centers both, but each differently. Edward Scissorhands is very centered, but definitely not comfortably centered. Although he stands erect, he stands with his head pulled back and his back very stiff, and his adds to the bizarreness of his strange character. Who stands like that? No one. It is interesting how just a little abnormality in posture can bring out abnormality in the entire character. • 37. Future Of Journalism In Canada If I had to predict the future of journalism in Canada, I would probably say that it will be characterized by diversity of voices, high competition, professionalism, and versatility. Canada is one of the most liberal and democratic countries when it comes to mass media and press, so I would assume this trend will persist. Among positive trends in Canadian journalism, I would single out diversity, interactivity, and professionalism. Diversity. The biggest media outlets in Canada are not censored by the Government and are relatively free to provide honest, balanced, and unbiased coverage of events. Many of these outlets have opinion writers or columnists who openly express their stance on politics, education, foreign affairs, etc. This carnival of opinions ... Professionalism is reflected in the quality of reports mainstream news sources and large newsrooms provide balanced and concise reporting of events. Among negative trends in Canadian journalism I would name competitiveness, low quality of content, and sponsored content (native advertising). Competitiveness. Based on my observation, the amount of freelance writers, journalists, and communicators is steadily increasing. • 39. Importance Of Propaganda In Journalism Propaganda Propaganda regards truth and reality. It is deceptive, purposely less than honest, biased, devoid of a sense of fairness. It attempts to manipulate someone s ideas, actions and attitudes. Propaganda can be used in journalism by manipulating the story to be exaggerated or simply false. A journalist or public relations specialist could use a false or photo shopped image in a newspaper/webpage to sway their audience into thinking the subject of their story is true and not to their audiences knowledge it has been manipulated. Semantics Semantics studies how words came to be and what they mean. In a journalistic setting when covering a story, be sure of what you are actually portraying and what you re trying to say. • 40. The Political Party Of The United States Of America The nature of the political party system in the United States of America, the oldest democracy in existence, is that the majority party rules. In essence, of the two major contemporary political parties that has a preponderance of votes wins the majority seat or as it is called the winner takes all system and the party that loses takes the minority seat and gets little to no power in the political arena. As a result, there is no representation for any other political party as long as the Democrats and the Republicans remain synergized. Thereupon, we have two almost ideological opposing parties that work together to dominate the political arena in the United States of America. Moreover, the question that arises is this an advantage or disadvantage? Well the answer is both, the major advantage is that no additional radical parties other than the two unified parties can dominate and create chaotic or disastrous reform. On the other hand, the major disadvantage is that a voter has only two choices because all the other small parties cannot compete with the two major contemporary parties voting power so if both major parties have displeasing candidates the vote has to choose from the less distasteful of the two chooses. The dangers of a two party system is that if one of the parties has a mishap and lose its standing, then it is a tyrannical one party system that will allow the regional power to run that local area through capital and no agencies to defend that individuals ... It sounds strange, but one person in particular was eager to do just that Owen Meany. In John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany, Owen makes many sacrifices, his biggest sacrifice being his own life. In the beginning of the novel, Owen comes across as slightly different with his minuscule size and high pitched voice, but as the novel progresses and Owen ages, his inhuman qualities become more and more prevalent, eventually leading to the biggest indicator of all his death. In the novel, Owen Meany is willingly able to plan the sacrifice of his own life in order to save the lives of others, showing he is a supernatural being. Owen Meany was predestined to be a savior for the Vietnamese children and he had been preparing for this sacrifice his entire life. From the time he was born, Owen was always special. His parents admitted that he was unnatural when Mr. Meany exclaimed, She just conceived a child like the Christ Child. (Irving 545). This shows that Owen s parents did not purposefully conceive him, but he was born for a greater purpose. Later on in Owen s life, he has a vision of his grave and how he will die, which leads him to prepare for his death. In 1965, Canadian tariff code 9958 was created to prohibit the physical importation of foreign split run periodicals and magazines (Thomas, 1998). As satellite technology was introduced into the world of publication, in 1993, the U.S. company Time Warner was able to send the contents electronically via satellite across the border to a Canadian printer. Time Warner began printing split run Canadian Sports Illustrated issues. While the electronic border crossing was against the spirit of the 9958 Canadian tariff code, the wording did not prohibit the new technology. Instead of amending tariff code 9958, the Canadian government, in 1995, used Bill C 103 to set an 80% tax on split run advertisements; thereby, ending split run publications (Thomas, 1998). The Canadian government was primarily focused on protecting its small market domestic publications. The 80% tax from Bill C 103 was not intended to create revenue; instead, it was an extreme preventative measure to prevent the proliferation of foreign publications.
