QOREX was hired by an aviation client to help standardize their benefits management, project management, and strategic planning. The client needed to invest millions to meet growing air traffic demand while reducing costs. QOREX consultants helped clarify the client's strategy and model how investments would achieve benefits over time. By using QOREX software, the client gained confidence in their improved plan and could see aggregate organizational benefits. It also allowed the client to standardize across 23 departments and communicate a single view of benefits, helping maximize impact while minimizing risk.

Aviation Case Study
Standardising benefits, programmes, and project management to provide a single truth of aggregate
organisational benefit.
Our client is responsible for the safe provision of air traffic capacity in UK airspace. It faces the double
challenge of growing demand for flights through the busiest, most complex, airspace in the world and the
need to reduce the cost of this air traffic service to its customers: the airlines, military, and airport operators.
To remain a global leader in air traffic control and airport performance, our client established a multi-million-
pound investment programme. Our client needed to know how to plan the investment so that each of the
aims would be met, when they needed to be met, without over-investing in any one of them and without
incurring an unmanageable level of project risk. Faced with unprecedented complexity, they turned to
QOREX and its strategic planning and management software for support.
Experienced strategy consultants from QOREX helped the team to revisit the organisational strategy ensuring
it was clearly articulated. They modelled the benefits of the programme and clearly linked how and when
each element would need to happen.
Cross-organisation initiatives, such as ways of working and digital, that had found it difficult to become
integrated, were each linked to the impacts of programme’s projects. By identifying and predicting the scale
of impacts on airspace capacity, air traffic productivity and operating costs, our client could see how benefits
would be realised over time and how investment aligned with intended results.
Implementing QOREX did not just give our client confidence in an improved plan; it also provided a clear
framework for effective strategic business planning and management. It was quickly realised that all 23 of
internal departments had a slightly different process and templates in place. QOREX enabled our client to
standardise benefits management, programme and project management and strategic business planning
doing away with various different processes and templates to make it easier for the central team to bring it
all together, communicate a single truth across the organisation and to get a view of the aggregate
organisational benefit.
QOREX strategic planning tool helped our client to be in a better place to understand benefits, know where
they are needed, and to deliver them for maximum impact and lowest programme risk.
