Preparing Non - Technical Founders for Engaging a Tech AgencyISH Technologies
Preparing non-technical founders before engaging a tech agency is crucial for the success of their projects. It starts with clearly defining their vision and goals, conducting thorough market research, and gaining a basic understanding of relevant technologies. Setting realistic expectations and preparing a detailed project brief are essential steps. Founders should select a tech agency with a proven track record and establish clear communication channels. Additionally, addressing legal and contractual considerations and planning for post-launch support are vital to ensure a smooth and successful collaboration. This preparation empowers non-technical founders to effectively communicate their needs and work seamlessly with their chosen tech agency.Visit our site to get more details about this. Measures in SQL (SIGMOD 2024, Santiago, Chile)Julian Hyde
SQL has attained widespread adoption, but Business Intelligence tools still use their own higher level languages based upon a multidimensional paradigm. Composable calculations are what is missing from SQL, and we propose a new kind of column, called a measure, that attaches a calculation to a table. Like regular tables, tables with measures are composable and closed when used in queries.
SQL-with-measures has the power, conciseness and reusability of multidimensional languages but retains SQL semantics. Measure invocations can be expanded in place to simple, clear SQL.
To define the evaluation semantics for measures, we introduce context-sensitive expressions (a way to evaluate multidimensional expressions that is consistent with existing SQL semantics), a concept called evaluation context, and several operations for setting and modifying the evaluation context.

Hand Rolled Applicative User ValidationCode KataPhilip Schwarz
Could you use a simple piece of Scala validation code (granted, a very simplistic one too!) that you can rewrite, now and again, to refresh your basic understanding of Applicative operators <*>, <*, *>?
The goal is not to write perfect code showcasing validation, but rather, to provide a small, rough-and ready exercise to reinforce your muscle-memory.
Despite its grandiose-sounding title, this deck consists of just three slides showing the Scala 3 code to be rewritten whenever the details of the operators begin to fade away.
The code is my rough and ready translation of a Haskell user-validation program found in a book called Finding Success (and Failure) in Haskell - Fall in love with applicative functors.

Ensuring an app's functionality across various Android devices, OS versions, and hardware specifications is critical, making Android app testing essential.
Microservice Teams - How the cloud changes the way we workSven Peters
A lot of technical challenges and complexity come with building a cloud-native and distributed architecture. The way we develop backend software has fundamentally changed in the last ten years. Managing a microservices architecture demands a lot of us to ensure observability and operational resiliency. But did you also change the way you run your development teams?
Sven will talk about Atlassian’s journey from a monolith to a multi-tenanted architecture and how it affected the way the engineering teams work. You will learn how we shifted to service ownership, moved to more autonomous teams (and its challenges), and established platform and enablement teams.

What is Qalcwise. Let’s take a look.
4. Todays business and especially the paradigm of Digital Transformation
raise the bar for business applications development. Rapid, agile and
DevOps methodologies were invented to meet the pace of business
change. These methodologies however do not pare down the IT
backlogs. The line of applications needs is increasingly long.
Business users „requests for solution” have to wait.
Nature does not allow vacuum. Smart business analysts are filling the
‚missing system’ gaps with clever Excel spreadsheet, Access databases
and tons of macros. That’s because they are not programmers. And
they don’t have tools that allow creating apps without coding,
Let’s add the fact that, it’s business users who understand the
processes and problems organizations are facing. Very often it’s
business users who are the best suited to provide creative and
innovative ideas to solve them.
This is why low-code/no-code (LC/NC) market grows in an amazing
pace surpassing other IT technologies.
Qalcwise provides unique value for non-programmer application
builders. Qalcwise was designed from scratch to satisfy those who
know spreadsheet formulas and want to create professional advanced
business applications.
5. Low-code platforms is a term first defined by independent analyst, Forrester
Research, and covered in detail in two Forrester Wave™ reports. According to
Forrester's definition:
"Low-Code Platforms enable
rapid delivery of business
applications with a upfront
investment minimum of hand-
coding and minimal in setup,
training, and deployment."
6. No-code platforms focus on non-technical business users also called
„citizen developers”.
Those who never write or directly work with code, but own the business
knowledge of their respective domains.
Business users are the closest to the business needs and problems business
encounters. It is them whose creative ideas drive innovation in their
organizations.
Because of lack of programming skills however, they are forced to rely on
IT or systems consultants.
This is where Qalcwise comes to the rescue allowing easy and blazingly fast
creation of advanced business applications.
Qalcwise fulfils the promise of no-code. Qalcwise allows building advanced
business with use of spreadsheet formulas in a modern technical platform.

2. Built-in blazing fast DATABASE for drag-and-drop use

3. Easy, graphical WORKFLOW designer with predefined

4. COLLABORATION portal to manage tasks and

Qalcwise also includes data import/export functionality, centralized portal administration, user and user groups management, audit logs, corporate security policy management
and stand-in functionality.
For large scale applications Qalcwise offers professional REST API for integrations and SAML2 Single-Sign-On.
8. First, let’s see what Qalcwise is not…
Many low-code / no-code platforms drag its own heritage and history, which make them skewed towards certain functionality, mode of use or target users.
Qalcwise is not a Form Builder – these tools tend to be fairly easy at building simple forms to collect data but deliver limited functionality for larger and interconnected applications or
solutions. Neither they provide flexible workflows or collaboration layers. They may however be used by business users.
Qalcwise is not a Web Database – these tools are focused on data, tables and relations. They might be seen as a replacement to local MS Access based apps but again, the will not
deliver flexible interactive workflows. They require at experience with database schemas, entities and their relationships as well as querying languages, therefore are not best suited for
business users.
Qalcwise is not a Rapid Application Development (RAD) platform – these are usually addressed to support programmers (low-code) in faster application delivery and by no means are not
suited for use by business users. They are often large and expensive enterprise-wide platforms and require specialized knowledge.
Qalcwise is not a traditional BPM – these BPM platforms evolved towards low-code, they however require product knowledge and advanced business process modeling techniques.
BPM tools focus on process aspects rather then on application functionality (UI, calculations, analysis, data).
Qalcwise has no heritage load. We designed and created Qalcwise from
scratch with business users in mind and in heart.
This is why we decided that Qalcwise shall speak language of business and this is spreadsheet
formulas and calculations. Business is all about calculations.
9. It provides a unique and new way to design advanced business solutions.
Yes, Qalcwise is ALL of the above… but completely different. New way. You will feel it and understand it during first 5 minutes of your first Qalcwise training!*
10. • Qalcwise offers incomparable formula oriented application designer
• Natively responsive design. Applications you design are responsive by default. You don’t have to do anything. But if you want, there is a formula ISMOBILE(), which can
help you to control the appearance of your app.
• Because it’s business user oriented, Qalcwise allows building No Schema Applications. You can build applications without explicitly designing a database layer. Still, you
can report this application data, analyse and use for dashboards. No need to know database theory.
• Qalcwise workflow designer is formula driven. It’s easy to understand and does not require knowledge of any specific notation like BPMN.
• Formula driven interactive UI. Qalcwise UI, although based on notion of spreadsheet offers extreme flexibility and dynamic interaction. Visibility of UI elements are ruled
by formulas. Same applies to appearance itself (colors, borders, styles). This goes beyond any form builders or BPM’s offer.
• Integrated Collaboration Environment. As the only platform Qalcwise offers a collaboration portal to manage both application generated and ‚human’ tasks. Qalcwise
applications are blended into a collaboration portal. Each step of application workflow can create task for a specific user or group of users.
• Qalcwise offers formula access to data rather then ‚by query’ and extends functionality of the lookup(), which we all know. This makes easy access to data for not DB
savvy users.
• Qalcwise introduces a set of new functions, not available in traditional spreadsheets. Qalcwise specific functions are user-aware, time zone-aware, workflow state
aware, new extended LOOKUP() and there is even a function, which tells if your app is run on mobile device.
• No deployment. This is important! No need to compile or deploy your applications. There are no special processes, which generate ‚code’ or any other technical
instance or materialization of the applications. Just save and it’s working. This is unique innovation of Qalcwise. No desktop component or other installations.
• Applications that you design on a desktop are Mobile per se! Qalcwise morphed mobile application development into general-purpose application design.
• Qalcwise includes built-in intelligent search for your data and tasks.
• And many more innovations under the hood…
11. There are hundreds of examples of applications built on Qalcwise for all industries, functions and departments.
12. Qalcwise is brilliantly suited to help you immediately address all those processes
which are still managed in excel, email or even on paper. Automating a cumbersome
process brings immediate savings. Application in Qalcwise can be designed and
deployed in as low as a couple of hours and bring immediate savings, increase
productivity, but most of all save people’s time and take frustration away.
There are 3 simple steps
1. Take a look around. Which processes are managed in Excel and
email? (* you may also check Qalcwise App Inspiration Catalogue)
2. Think of what the usual and most common workflow is.
3. Log onto qalcwise. Design the app, any calculations you need
and draw the workflow. Save.
Qalcwise provides is the best tool to address Digital Transformation
in an unprecedented agile way!
If it’s your first app, a short tutorial or Qalcwise training is advised. Qalcwise or Qalcwise partners provide such service.
If you don’t feel like a spreadsheet analyst, but still have an idea to solve a process that is annoying you too much, ask Qalcwise partner for help!
Do not hesitate. idea@qalcwise.com

13. ERP
Qalcwise no-code applications are often used to streamline those
processes, which do not fit in rigid frames and long
implementations of large systems (ERP, CRM, etc).
Implementing a business need in a large system takes too long, or is
‚problematic’ or even not possible at all, instead of employing highly
skilled programmers for hundreds of mandays, these applications
are easily created in Qalcwise.
These ‚gap’ processes are very often forced to be addressed by
excel and email. This is exactly where Qalcwise brings immediate
relief. Qalcwise applications are equipped with workflow, security
and remove the problem of everchanging files.
Every of your excel-managed process that was
meant to be implemented in ERP or CRM can be
easily automated in Qalcwise. If it’s planned, but it
takes long waiting, USE QALCWISE app for process
prototyping. It works.
