The lab demonstrates using these commands on the local host to test connectivity to on-link and off-link devices and networks.
Intangibles and Cultural and Creative IndustriesIvie
This document discusses two projects related to measuring intangible assets: the SPINTAN project and a Telefonica Foundation project. The SPINTAN project aims to extend existing frameworks to measure public sector intangibles across multiple EU and other countries. It will create a public sector intangibles database and analyze the impact of public intangibles on innovation, well-being, and growth. The Telefonica Foundation project measures intangible assets in Spain's private sector across 24 industries from 1995-2011 using various data sources. It aims to capture the importance of intangibles in the new knowledge economy.
The document discusses mechanisms for controlling access to internet content related to space, time, speed, quality, and access. It focuses on how the audiovisual industry uses geo-IP filtering, digital rights management (DRM), content delivery networks (CDNs), and peering agreements to segment markets and protect existing business models of content versioning and repurposing. Regulation and self-regulation both play a role in controlling the distribution of content, with tools like DRM and geo-blocking supported by formal copyright laws as well as industry practices. Overall, the document examines how the industry aims to maintain national and regional control over content access online.
Ddo8 Peter Anker Digital Dividend In Nlimec.archive
This document discusses competition in broadcasting services and the potential use of the digital dividend in the Netherlands. It finds that a large part of the digital dividend is already used for digital terrestrial television, which competes with cable broadband. The remaining digital dividend could be used to either strengthen digital terrestrial television or to enhance mobile coverage in rural areas. It considers these two scenarios and concludes that a flexible auction process that allows either outcome could maximize the benefits to consumers.

This document discusses the licensing experiences of the SUMO Toolbox. It begins by introducing the Surrogate Modeling Lab and the toolbox. It then discusses some of the challenges with the original licensing approach, which involved fees and an activation process. The document proposes moving to a dual license model, with an open source AGPL license for non-commercial use and a custom commercial license. This is hoped to increase users, contributions and feedback while being less restrictive than the original approach. Some caveats are noted around tracking contributions and compatibility with other codes.

Comparative analysis between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquapon...bijceesjournal
The aquaponic system of planting is a method that does not require soil usage. It is a method that only needs water, fish, lava rocks (a substitute for soil), and plants. Aquaponic systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Its use not only helps to plant in small spaces but also helps reduce artificial chemical use and minimizes excess water use, as aquaponics consumes 90% less water than soil-based gardening. The study applied a descriptive and experimental design to assess and compare conventional and reconstructed aquaponic methods for reproducing tomatoes. The researchers created an observation checklist to determine the significant factors of the study. The study aims to determine the significant difference between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquaponics systems propagating tomatoes in terms of height, weight, girth, and number of fruits. The reconstructed aquaponics system’s higher growth yield results in a much more nourished crop than the traditional aquaponics system. It is superior in its number of fruits, height, weight, and girth measurement. Moreover, the reconstructed aquaponics system is proven to eliminate all the hindrances present in the traditional aquaponics system, which are overcrowding of fish, algae growth, pest problems, contaminated water, and dead fish.
The CBC machine is a common diagnostic tool used by doctors to measure a patient's red blood cell count, white blood cell count and platelet count. The machine uses a small sample of the patient's blood, which is then placed into special tubes and analyzed. The results of the analysis are then displayed on a screen for the doctor to review. The CBC machine is an important tool for diagnosing various conditions, such as anemia, infection and leukemia. It can also help to monitor a patient's response to treatment.

Sinan shares their journey into solving complex build-cache problems that affect Gradle builds. By understanding the challenges and solutions found in our journey, we aim to demonstrate the possibilities for faster builds. The case study reveals how overlapping outputs and cache misconfigurations led to significant increases in build times, especially as the project scaled up with numerous modules using Paparazzi tests. The journey from diagnosing to defeating cache issues offers invaluable lessons on maintaining cache integrity without sacrificing functionality.
Advanced control scheme of doubly fed induction generator for wind turbine us...IJECEIAES
This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.
