below according to the time
directing below:

After answering the activity above,
what did you noticed? Is there a
new way of telling what time it is
represented? Did you get all the
time stamps? How did you do it?

It is usually created in a 24-hour format
where in our regular time format, which is
12 hours, after 12:00, we will be telling the
time to 1:00. We also relay to the mini
script of time stamp “AM” and “PM” where
in “AM” (Ante meridiem) means before
midday and “PM” (Post meridiem) after
midday.

But in 24 hours we after 12:00
we just proceed with 00:00
start of a new cycle just like in
the table below:

Why do we need to tell time
in a different way? In
tourism we adopted a way of
saying time in a similar yet
different way.

We a similar technique we
called 24 Hour time stamp or
Military hour. We do this in
the airlines systems and
other tour services.
ObOb
In 24 hours, there are 22.7 million
people passing through airports,
22.5 million visitors on Expedia,
and 20,000 new jobs created in the
Travel & Tourism industry. Time is
very important in Tourism Industry.

It can be used in the
tracking of products
and tour schedules.

 Discuss the elements of a
products and its principle.
 Apply the elements and
principles of product in your
own business.

Trivia:
A wide known philosopher Kotler
defines a product as it is”anything
that can be offered to a market for
attention , acquisition, use or
consumption that might satisfy a want
or need”.
Simple Element of a Product or Service:
1.The physical plant -is nothing but the
destination with sound and catchy
architecture that enhances tourists’
experience it can be a Landscape, a man-
made attraction (Parks and Monuments)
or Mobile Party such as Airplanes or
ships
Simple Element of a Product or Service:
2.Service - the features or facilities of the
physical plant are put to use for the tourists
with service. It pertains to performing tasks
for the benefit and satisfaction of the tourists.
For example, serving food in a hotel is a
service by the staff there.
Simple Element of a Product or Service:
3.Hospitality - It is the attitude with which
the service is provided. Hospitality includes
performing the service with smile,
enthusiasm, untiringly, and with dedication.
For example, arranging guest room supplies
or serving food or beverage in a presentable
manner is a part of hospitality.
Simple Element of a Product or Service:
4.Cultural Impact – it is the traditional of
culture in our place that attracts people
(tourist) to watch and experience Example:
Panagbenga Festival in Baguio, Tsinelas
Festival.
5.Abundance of the Resource – it is the most
basic part of developing a product that is by
analyzing abundant resource in the area and
make something out of it.
Key Principles of Tourism Product Development
• Be authentic and should reflect the unique attributes
of the destination.
• Have the support of the host community.
• Respect the natural and cultural environments.
• Be different from the competitors, avoiding copying
developments blindly.
• Be of sufficient scale to make a significant economic
contribution, but not very large to create high economic
leakage.
Activity:Create a Tourism Product Service with
the following guide:
1. Name a potential resource or material in your area:
Example: Coconut
2. What potential product or service can be made from it?
Coconut milk , Coconut husk , coconut lumber, House decoration ,
broom
3. What element does your product or service can be sorted? Cultural
Impact and abundance services.

By the design of the product and promoting it to friends , relatives,
and others.
