Q1. In what ways does
 your media product use,
     develop or challenge
forms and conventions of
    real media products?
My magazine uses a conversational tone that
challenges the more “gossipy” tone of other
magazines; I’d hope that the readers of “Rift”
would enjoy the humour in the articles but also
appreciate the sincerity of the questions asked
and the intelligent and thoughtful answers
given unlike many music magazines that do
“quick fire” interviews which ask questions that
don’t really address the music industry or the
band itself.



Through it’s articles…
My magazine develops the use of photos
from live performances which music
magazines are using more frequently. I
think this is a positive thing as live photos
connect the reader to the band more than
staged photos from shoots.




Through it’s photos…
I think my logo challenges conventional
media products as unlike other logo it
doesn’t look as “polished”. I was hoping to
achieve, perhaps, an “underdog” look that
my readers could relate to. It would also
visually set my magazine apart from
others.
