In part 2 of python series (Python Programming in Entertainment Industry), we are talking about 6 basic coding style in python that would help RD/TD in animation/game studio that would help me a lot when they are doing more and more coding in the future.

Zsh and fish are better alternatives to the default bash shell. Zsh features include shared history between shells, autocorrection, powerful autocompletion for many commands out of the box and with plugins, autoexpand to avoid typing too much, and arrow key history search with minimal configuration. Fish shell stands out for its autosuggestions as you type and smart tab suggestions that parse man pages to provide command syntax help. Both shells can be enhanced with additional frameworks like oh my zsh which provides themes, plugins, and functions.

One of advantages about cloud computing is potentially huge-scale resources for your task. And it's especially beneficial to data driven process with heavy computing. In this talk, the idea of job script to orchestrate the execution of workflows across multiple computing nodes is introduced. An implementation based on AWS SWF (Simple Workflow) is described with examples of processing for music streaming and video streaming in KKBOX.

Spatial Disorientation

Raspberry pi Part 25
The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card–sized single-board computers developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools.
The original Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi 2 are manufactured in several board configurations through licensed manufacturing agreements with Newark element14 (Premier Farnell), RS Components and Egoman. These companies sell the Raspberry Pi online. Egoman produces a version for distribution solely in China and Taiwan, which can be distinguished from other Pis by their red colouring and lack of FCC/CE marks. The hardware is the same across all manufacturers.
The original Raspberry Pi is based on the Broadcom BCM2835 system on a chip (SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and was originally shipped with 256 megabytes of RAM, later upgraded (models B and B+) to 512 MB. The system has Secure Digital (SD) (models A and B) or MicroSD (models A+ and B+) sockets for boot media and persistent storage.

FFI provides an easy Ruby DSL for interfacing with native code while handling data conversions. SWIG can generate bindings to interface Ruby and other languages with C/C++ code. Memory management must still be considered when using native extensions.

Node.js uses the V8 JavaScript engine and the libuv library. V8 compiles JavaScript to machine code for high performance, while libuv provides asynchronous I/O capabilities. Native modules can extend Node.js using NAN or the newer N-API for direct access to V8 from C/C++ code.

SymfonyCon 2017 php7 performances
This document summarizes Julien Pauli's presentation on performance considerations with PHP 7. The key points are:
1) PHP 7 introduced a new compiler based on an AST that performs optimizations like resolving static expressions and function calls at compile time.
2) PHP 7 also introduced optimizations for references, hashtables, strings and encapsed strings. References are copied less, hashtables use less memory, strings are interned and encapsed strings build strings more efficiently.
3) Future versions of PHP will continue optimizing the compiler and intoduce a JIT compiler for further performance improvements. PHP 8 will be released when these optimizations are ready.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
