Pyramus and Thisbe were in love but forbidden by their parents to be together, so they planned to run away secretly. At their meeting place in a cave, Thisbe arrived first and fled in fear from a lioness, leaving behind her bloodied cloak. When Pyramus discovered the cloak, he mistakenly believed Thisbe was dead and killed himself; upon returning, Thisbe found Pyramus dying and also took her own life, so that they could be together in death. The tree that witnessed their love now bears fruit in their honor.

Thisbe arrives at their meeting place

ripped and bloodied her cloak.

Pyramus finds Thisbe’s cloak
bloody at their meeting place
and assumes she’s dead then so
he also killed himself.

7. FALLING ACTION
Thisbe finds Pyramus dying in the
cave upon returning so she decided
to also kill herself to be with
Pyramus until the end.

8. RESOLUTION / DENOUEMENT
The two then spends their life together in the
afterlife forever.

9. The tree nourished by the youngsters
love continues to honor the couple with
their sweet and reddish fruits today
known as mulberries.
