This document provides biographical information about Joseph Bruchac. It states that he lives in the same house in Greenfield Center, New York where his grandparents raised him. Much of his writing draws from his Abenaki ancestry and the land. He works with his sister and two sons on projects to preserve Abenaki culture, language, and traditions, including performing Abenaki music. Bruchac is a professional storyteller who performs traditional tales from the Adirondacks and Northeastern Woodlands throughout the U.S. and Europe. He is frequently a storyteller-in-residence at Native American organizations and schools.
