The colours typically used within a psychological film poster are predominantly red, black and white. This
usually implies connotations of danger, blood or death.
Low key lighting is also a common element used due to it creating a sense of mystery and enigma, which
can be emphasised by a darker background.
The title of the film is usually positioned at the bottom of the poster, which makes it look more
professional and connotes the genre due to the colour typically being red or white with a condensed,
thin font.
The graphology used on a psychological film poster would often be an unsettled image of the
protagonist, therefore will show this to be the focal point of the film. There is never much content to
these posters due to the sense of enigma, therefore may create the audience to think that the subject
depicted is either in danger or is the cause of it.
