PSY 330 Week 1 Assignment Initial Self-
Assessment (2 Papers)
For more classes visit

This Tutorial contains 2 Papers
Initial Self-Assessment. Prior to beginning work on this assignment,
carefully read Chapter 1 of your text.
According to the American Psychological Association (n.d.)
Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns
of thinking, feeling, and behaving. The study of personality focuses on
two broad areas: One is understanding individualdifferences in
particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or
irritability. The other is understanding how the various parts of a
person come together as a whole. (para 1)
In this course, you will explore seven well-known models that explain
the development of personality. However, you probably already have
some ideas and opinions about how personalities develop based on
your prior learning and life experiences. This first assignment is
meant to provide you with a baseline of your thinking about
personality that you can compare and contrast to the theories we will
be studying. This paper will also be integrated into a section of your
final assignment.
This is not a research paper; that will come later. In this assignment,
you will reflect on your current assumptions defining personality as
they relate to your understanding of your own behaviors. Describe
your personality, including your typical style, your main traits, the
way you interact with others, and how you handle stress. Explain
what it is that makes you uniquely “you,” and how you think you
became the person you are today. Describe the social and/or
psychological factors you can point to that help support your
explanation as well as any genetic factors you believe affect your
unique personality.

PSY 330 Week 1 DQ 1 Freudian and Jungian
Theories of the Unconscious Mind
For more classes visit

Freudian and Jungian Theories of the Unconscious Mind. Prior to
beginning work on this discussion be sure to read Chapters 2 and 3 in
your text, read the Iurato (2015) “A brief comparison of the
unconscious as seen by Jung and Levi-Strauss” article, and review
the Sigmund Freud: The Unconscious mind video and The
Washington Society for Jungian Psychology website. In addition to
the required resources, research a minimum of one scholarly source
in the Ashford University Library on this topic.
The unconscious mind is a core concept in most psychoanalytical and
psychodynamic theories, but Freud andJung’s theories are the most
developed and prominent. Your text and the required readings and
media havepresented the two theories. In your initial post of a
minimum of 350 words, present an overview of both Freud’s theory
and Jung’s theory of the role of the unconscious mind as it pertains to
personality and behavior. Thencompare and contrast the basic
assumptions of the two theories and note the similarities and the
differences as they relate to human behavior. Based on your reading
and research explain which interpretation of the unconscious mind
you support.

PSY 330 Week 2 Assignment The Trait Model
of Personality (2 Papers)

www.snaptutorial.com
This Tutorial contains 2 Papers
The Trait Model of Personality. Prior to beginning work on this
assignment, read Chapter 8 in your text as well as the article
by Allemand, Steiger, and Hill (2013), and view the The Big
Personality Test video. In addition to the required resources, go to the
Ashford University Library and research a minimum of one scholarly
source on the trait model of personality and one scholarly resource
on the big five theory of personality.
It is recommended that you go to the The Big Five Personality
Test and complete the free, confidential personality test that is based
on the big five theory. The results of this test may be used to aid in the
completion of this assignment. Please note that you do not need to
register or give any personal information to obtain your results from
this website. After you have completed the assessment, click on the
“No, just give me my results” link. This link will take you to a page
that will tell you how you scored on each of the five traits in this
theory.
In the first part of this assignment, you will provide an overview of the
trait model of personality in which you identify at least one principal
theorist associated with the model. Briefly compare and contrast the
basic assumptions of this model and the psychodynamic model of
personality regarding the difference between healthy and unhealthy
personalities. Use your research as well as this week’s required
resources to support your statements.
The Big Five Model (also known as the Five Factor Model) is the
prevailing theory in the trait model of personality. In the second part
of your paper, identify and describe each of the five traits included in
the big five model: extroversion, agreeableness, conscienciousness,
neuroticism, and openness to experience. If you chose to take the
online Big Five Personality Test, reflect on your results from the test
and discuss how you scored on each of the five traits. If you chose not
to take the online test, use the assigned readings, video, and your
research to explain how the five trait theory describes your
personality.

PSY 330 Week 2 DQ 1 Epigenetic Influences
on Personality and Behavior
For more classes visit

Epigenetic Influences on Personality and Behavior. Prior to
beginning work on this
discussion please read the Hurley (2013) Trait vs. Fate and Weaver,
et al. (2004) Epigenetic Programming by Maternal Behavior articles
and review the Webster “The Great Rat Mother Switcheroo” online
article. The recommended resources for this week also provide more
information on these topics.
In this week’s required resources, we have learned that while our
genes have a lot to say about who we are, environmental factors,
particularly parental behavior, can shape the behavior of offspring on
a biochemical level. Using the assigned Hurley and Weaver et al.
articles, briefly describe the research that has been done with rat
mothers to illustrate this phenomenon. In your initial post of a
minimum of 350 words, explain the implications of the research on
parental behavior and environmental factors as they relate to human
personality development. Describe how this research data might be
used to explain unhealthy personality traits. Describe how the
emerging field of epigenetics is imparcting the longstanding nature vs
nurture paradigm. Be sure to cite the Hurley and Weaver, et al.
articles in your initial post.

The Concept of Self. Prior to beginning work on this discussion
please read Chapter
Nine of your course text, and review sections 2.5, 3.1, and 3.2 from
previous chapters. Also read the Palacios, Echaniz, Fernandez and
Ortiz de Barron (2015) article Personal Self-Concept and Satisfaction
with Life in Adolescence, Youth, and Adulthood and the Dodge,
Barab, Stuckey, Warren, Heiselt, & Stein (2008) articleChildren’s
Sense of Self: Learning and Meaning in the Digital Age.
The concept of self is core to the study of personality, and most of the
theories we have studied in this course postulate some idea about
what constitutes the self. This week, we are looking at the self-
psychology model which presents several theories regarding how we
perceive ourselves and how that is expressed in our personalities. In
your initial post, provide a brief overview of the two theories of self
that resonate the most with you and explain why you relate to these
theories. Be sure to identify the principal theorists associated with
your two chosen theories. Describe the impact of our current digital
age on the concept of self , including the impact of social media on
the way we perceive ourselves. Explain whether or not our
perceptions of self are evolving because of social media, including the
idea of a digital self. Provide examples of how this might be
happening or provide a rationale as to why you believe it is not
happening. Your initial post should be a minimum of 300 words and
should include references to both of the assigned articles.

www.snaptutorial.com
This Tutorial contains 2 Papers
Integrative Personality. This assignment calls for you to employ what
Gordon Allport (1968) called systematic eclecticism. Prior to
beginning work on this assignment, review the section
entitled “Convergence of Theories: Eclecticism, Integration, and
Unification” in Chapter 1 of your text.
In this paper, you will complete the assignment which you began in
week three and create your own theory of personality development by
synthesizing the concepts and constructs of all the theories that seem
most accurate and appropriate to you and by using those concepts to
reflect on your own personality and development.
Research a minimum of eight scholarly sources related to these
concepts in the Ashford University Library to support your statements
in the paper. Popular websites and your textbook may augment, but
they will not count toward, the minimum number of sources needed
for the paper. The following content and headings must be included in
your paper.
Please visit the Ashford Writing Center for guidance on how to format
headings in APA Style. Also, please take note of the suggestions
provided for the length for each section in the instructions below.
Instructions:
Provide a general introduction to the topic of theories of personality.
Explain what you plan to cover and describe the direction your paper
will take. This section will not feature a heading, and it will be
approximately two to three paragraphs.
Major Concepts
In this section, you will present the seven specific concepts identified
from the seven models you think best apply to the study of personality
in distinct subheadings. For each concept, identify the major
personality model from which the concept was taken as well as the
theorist associated with that model. This completed section will be
approximately four to five pages.
Excluded Concepts
In this section, present the concepts you have chosen to exclude in
your theory of personality development. Reflect on the basic
assumptions that define personality and identify three specific
excluded concepts from any of the theories studied in the course. For
each of the excluded concepts, provide a rationale explaining the
various aspects of the concept that make it unsuitable for your use.
This section will be approximately one to two pages.
The Differences between Healthy and Unhealthy Personalities
Describe the basic differences between healthy and unhealthy
personality, based on the concepts that you have chosen to include
and exclude from your theory. This completed section will be
approximately one page.
The Roles of Heredity, the Environment, and Epigenetics
Provide your analysis of the roles heredity, the environment, and
epigenetics play in the development of personality. Discuss how
heredity and the environment might affect personality disorders. This
completed section will be approximately one page.
Assessment and Measurement of the Theory
Reflect on the major concepts you have selected for inclusion and
provide a brief description about how those concepts are measured
and/or assessed. Review the assessment sections of each chapter and
discuss those measures you think are most applicable and effective.
This completed section will be approximately one page.
Self-Reflection
In this section of the paper, review the self-reflection you wrote in
Week One of this class and describe how and in what ways your views
have or have not changed. Analyze your Week One self-assessment
using the concepts that you have included in your integrative theory
and describe how your theory explains your personality. This section
will be approximately one page.
Provide a brief conclusion that summarizes the ideas presented in
your integrative theory of personality. This section will not feature a
heading and it will be approximately two to four paragraphs.

  • 2. PSY 330 Week 1 Assignment Initial Self- Assessment (2 Papers) For more classes visit www.snaptutorial.com This Tutorial contains 2 Papers Initial Self-Assessment. Prior to beginning work on this assignment, carefully read Chapter 1 of your text. According to the American Psychological Association (n.d.) Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One is understanding individualdifferences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability. The other is understanding how the various parts of a person come together as a whole. (para 1) In this course, you will explore seven well-known models that explain the development of personality. However, you probably already have some ideas and opinions about how personalities develop based on your prior learning and life experiences. This first assignment is meant to provide you with a baseline of your thinking about personality that you can compare and contrast to the theories we will be studying. This paper will also be integrated into a section of your final assignment. This is not a research paper; that will come later. In this assignment, you will reflect on your current assumptions defining personality as they relate to your understanding of your own behaviors. Describe
  • 3. your personality, including your typical style, your main traits, the way you interact with others, and how you handle stress. Explain what it is that makes you uniquely “you,” and how you think you became the person you are today. Describe the social and/or psychological factors you can point to that help support your explanation as well as any genetic factors you believe affect your unique personality. ******************************************************* PSY 330 Week 1 DQ 1 Freudian and Jungian Theories of the Unconscious Mind For more classes visit www.snaptutorial.com Freudian and Jungian Theories of the Unconscious Mind. Prior to beginning work on this discussion be sure to read Chapters 2 and 3 in your text, read the Iurato (2015) “A brief comparison of the unconscious as seen by Jung and Levi-Strauss” article, and review the Sigmund Freud: The Unconscious mind video and The Washington Society for Jungian Psychology website. In addition to the required resources, research a minimum of one scholarly source in the Ashford University Library on this topic. The unconscious mind is a core concept in most psychoanalytical and psychodynamic theories, but Freud andJung’s theories are the most developed and prominent. Your text and the required readings and media havepresented the two theories. In your initial post of a
  • 4. minimum of 350 words, present an overview of both Freud’s theory and Jung’s theory of the role of the unconscious mind as it pertains to personality and behavior. Thencompare and contrast the basic assumptions of the two theories and note the similarities and the differences as they relate to human behavior. Based on your reading and research explain which interpretation of the unconscious mind you support. ******************************************************* PSY 330 Week 2 Assignment The Trait Model of Personality (2 Papers) For more classes visit www.snaptutorial.com This Tutorial contains 2 Papers The Trait Model of Personality. Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapter 8 in your text as well as the article by Allemand, Steiger, and Hill (2013), and view the The Big Personality Test video. In addition to the required resources, go to the Ashford University Library and research a minimum of one scholarly source on the trait model of personality and one scholarly resource on the big five theory of personality.
  • 5. It is recommended that you go to the The Big Five Personality Test and complete the free, confidential personality test that is based on the big five theory. The results of this test may be used to aid in the completion of this assignment. Please note that you do not need to register or give any personal information to obtain your results from this website. After you have completed the assessment, click on the “No, just give me my results” link. This link will take you to a page that will tell you how you scored on each of the five traits in this theory. In the first part of this assignment, you will provide an overview of the trait model of personality in which you identify at least one principal theorist associated with the model. Briefly compare and contrast the basic assumptions of this model and the psychodynamic model of personality regarding the difference between healthy and unhealthy personalities. Use your research as well as this week’s required resources to support your statements. The Big Five Model (also known as the Five Factor Model) is the prevailing theory in the trait model of personality. In the second part of your paper, identify and describe each of the five traits included in the big five model: extroversion, agreeableness, conscienciousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. If you chose to take the online Big Five Personality Test, reflect on your results from the test and discuss how you scored on each of the five traits. If you chose not to take the online test, use the assigned readings, video, and your research to explain how the five trait theory describes your personality. ******************************************************* PSY 330 Week 2 DQ 1 Epigenetic Influences on Personality and Behavior
  • 6. For more classes visit www.snaptutorial.com Epigenetic Influences on Personality and Behavior. Prior to beginning work on this discussion please read the Hurley (2013) Trait vs. Fate and Weaver, et al. (2004) Epigenetic Programming by Maternal Behavior articles and review the Webster “The Great Rat Mother Switcheroo” online article. The recommended resources for this week also provide more information on these topics. In this week’s required resources, we have learned that while our genes have a lot to say about who we are, environmental factors, particularly parental behavior, can shape the behavior of offspring on a biochemical level. Using the assigned Hurley and Weaver et al. articles, briefly describe the research that has been done with rat mothers to illustrate this phenomenon. In your initial post of a minimum of 350 words, explain the implications of the research on parental behavior and environmental factors as they relate to human personality development. Describe how this research data might be used to explain unhealthy personality traits. Describe how the emerging field of epigenetics is imparcting the longstanding nature vs nurture paradigm. Be sure to cite the Hurley and Weaver, et al. articles in your initial post. ******************************************************* PSY 330 Week 2 Quiz Neurobiological and Traits Models

  • 17. Integrative Personality. This assignment calls for you to employ what Gordon Allport (1968) called systematic eclecticism. Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review the section entitled “Convergence of Theories: Eclecticism, Integration, and Unification” in Chapter 1 of your text. In this paper, you will complete the assignment which you began in week three and create your own theory of personality development by synthesizing the concepts and constructs of all the theories that seem most accurate and appropriate to you and by using those concepts to reflect on your own personality and development. Research a minimum of eight scholarly sources related to these concepts in the Ashford University Library to support your statements in the paper. Popular websites and your textbook may augment, but they will not count toward, the minimum number of sources needed for the paper. The following content and headings must be included in your paper. Please visit the Ashford Writing Center for guidance on how to format headings in APA Style. Also, please take note of the suggestions provided for the length for each section in the instructions below. Instructions: Provide a general introduction to the topic of theories of personality. Explain what you plan to cover and describe the direction your paper will take. This section will not feature a heading, and it will be approximately two to three paragraphs. Major Concepts In this section, you will present the seven specific concepts identified from the seven models you think best apply to the study of personality in distinct subheadings. For each concept, identify the major personality model from which the concept was taken as well as the theorist associated with that model. This completed section will be approximately four to five pages. Excluded Concepts
