KEY TERMS
An endangered species is
a type of organism that is
threatened by extinction.
Extinction is the complete
disappearance of a
species from Earth.
The process by which a natural
habitat becomes incapable of
supporting its native species.
The activity of hunting wild
animals or games, especially
for food or sport
It refers to the illegal
trafficking and killing of
wildlife.
Places in the world where
wildlife trade is
particularly threatening.
5. introduction
Species extinction rates have
accelerated so rapidly that the
average vertebrate extinction
rate today is a thousand times
higher than the baseline rate.
Among the long list of
endangered animals, many are
critically endangered due to
poaching, which fuels the illegal
animal trade. More than 300
species of mammals are on the
brink of extinction due to
poaching.
6. research questions
What are
endangered
species?
What are the
consequences
that poaching
can bring to
the worldwide
population?
7. Hypothesis
Dependent
variable
Independent
variable
If today's adolescents do not have prior knowledge about
poaching and its consequences, and how it affects worldwide
population and in the habitats of all species, then society and
nature as such will find serious problems of imbalances in the
ecosystems, causing mass extinctions and continuing to
promote poaching, expanding the business of exotic animal
trafficking.
8. General
objective
Demonstrate the
importance of taking
the extinction of
endangered species
seriously and
publicize the
importance of create
awareness in today’s
adolescents.
Specific
objective
Expose the
importance of species
conservation.
Specific
objective
Publicize the need
of controlling
poaching.
objectives
9. JUSTIFICATION
This research is essential to be
carried out because poaching is the
leading cause of the extinction of
endangered species and not raising
awareness in today's adolescents
makes them ignorant by not having
any knowledge regarding animal
traffic and the consequences of it.
11. Why is overhunting even a
thing?
Tradition and Culture
Manufacture of
Medicine.
Overpopulation.
Cosmetic Products.
Food Supply.
Fur, Decoration, and
other Economic
Values.
12. Wildlife crime is a big business. By its
very nature, it is almost impossible to
obtain reliable figures for the value of
the illegal wildlife trade.
Not all wildlife trade is illegal.
Wildlife trade escalates into a crisis
when an increasing proportion is
illegal and unsustainable directly
threatening the survival of many
species in the wild.
POACHING
13. Hunting was intended for
survival, as natives in areas
throughout the world would
only gather what they
needed to live
Overhunting affects the
flora and fauna of
ecosystems on a more
concentrated level.
THE CONSEQUENCES
OF OVERHUNTING
14. Excessive hunting is
recorded as the third most
notorious cause of animal
extinction since the 17th
century.
The endangering of species
as well as species extinction
are highly detrimental to the
ecological balance of the
planet.

17. Paradigm and design
The researcher will
use a mixture of
qualitative and
quantitative
paradigms to provide
a more complete
picture of the
phenomenon under
study.
After a process of deliberation, the
researcher concluded the students of the
tenth and eleventh grades of the
Interamerican School were the groups that
were best suited for this study.
18. Data
collection
instrument
For the diagnosis, the
researcher has decided to use a
survey to measure the
knowledge and how much
awareness the students have
about poaching, endangered
species, consequences and
causes.
20. DATA COLLECTION PROCESS

The purpose of this tool was to help the researcher
gather all the necessary information about “How to
prevent extinction of endangered species?” in order to
complete the research study. This process took place
during the first half of the third period of the current
school year
29. CONCLUSIONS
A significant portion of the
Interamerican School teenage
population has a basic level of
knowledge regarding poaching and its
consequences.
Today's adolescents do not have
enough knowledge about poaching,
and the consequences and that the
same misinformation of them would
bring devastating consequences for
ecosystems with mass extinctions of
species
30. recommendations
Reinforce the awareness and
importance of the conservation
of species.
Recommend fortifying their
knowledge and creating a real
awareness about it.
Implement environmental issues
in their teaching programs such
as poaching, but they do not do
it tediously.
