2. Introduction
• As the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of
Provectus Biopharmaceuticals, Peter Culpepper provides
strategic oversight for the biomedical research firm. At the
11th Annual Academic Surgical Congress, held in Jacksonville,
Florida, Peter Culpepper’s company presented key data
related to the immunologic effects of one of its cancer drugs,
PV-10, on colon cancer.
In vitro testing of PV-10 on colon cancer cells has shown
cytotoxicity consistent with immune-triggered apoptosis. the
drug caused cell arrest, stress in the endoplasmic reticulum,
and autophagy. All of these signs align with immunologic cell
death resulting from exposure to PV-10.

3. PV-10
• The work presented at the congress moves
Provectus further toward completely understanding
the mechanism by which PV-10 acts as an ablative
immunotherapy in the presence of solid tumors. At
present, Provectus has many clinical trials operating
to test the effectiveness of PV-10 in the treatment of
several types of cancer, including solid tumors and
melanoma.
At the congress, the research was presented by Dr.
N. M. Kunda of the Division of Surgical Oncology at
the University of Illinois at Chicago College of
Medicine.
