Proposal titled, “PROJECT LAPS (Learning Activities based on Performance using
innovative Strategies under new normal.)” The primary purpose of this project is to
produce learning activity sheets for the third quarter in Cookery 10 that are aligned to the
curricular and learning resource standards of the Department of Education. The
preparation and development of the Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) is on December 07,
2020 to January 08, 2021.

V. RATIONALE:
The avenue for learning are schools. There is a great impact in changing
one’s perspective in continuing the delivery of education amidst the pandemic. This
is a challenge for the teachers to continuously improve their capacity of planning
the learning activity sheets in the effective delivery of strategic pedagogy in
teaching. The new mode of delivery has a great effect in the total development of
the learners nowadays. This capacitates the ability of teachers to craft learning
activity sheets to effect learning and affects learners while at home. The
knowledge and skills must be inculcated with the use of teaching strategies under
new normal.
On the one hand, teachers need to prepare for the new normal. The
inclusivity of the practical arts to holistically develop a learner will be the greater
strength of teachers in planning, implementing different learning modalities, and
trailblazing learning even in these times of pandemic. On the other hand, Cookery
is one of the subjects in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) that caters the
practical knowledge of learners to perform on the set standards adhering to the
thrust of Department of Education and will be offered during the 3rd and 4th
Quarters of this new normal in education, School Year 2020-2021. Teachers have
the capacity as writers of quality materials (e.g. Learning Activity Sheets) to be
given to our learners.
The Project: LAPS – is a Self-Paced Cooking Activities based on the
performance of Students that will serve as supplementary materials to aid learners
in their continuous study at home. This will inculcate the Learners’ knowledge,
skills, attitude and their resourcefulness. The learning activity sheets will be given
specifically to the Grade 10 learners taking specialization subject in TLE-
COOKERY.
3. OBJECTIVES:
A. To develop students’ performance using activity sheets for practical
applications of concepts;
B. To inculcate practical reflective learning by utilizing learning activity
sheets at home;
C. To assess and evaluate the strength and weaknesses of learners based
on the results of the learning activity sheets, and
D. To support learners in giving continuous education at home amidst
pandemic.
VI. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
This project proposal is intended for Grade 10 learners. It contains different
learning activities based on the revised Learners’ Materials 2016 and MELCS. The
learning activity sheets will be used by the learners to aid continuous learning at
home. It is a combination of home practical activities and enrichment of
information suited on the levels of learners.
