• Road traffic congestion becomes a major issue for highly crowded
metropolitan cities.
• India is the second most populated country in the world and is a fast
growing economy. It is facing terrible road congestion in the cities.
According to Times of India about 30 percent of deaths are caused due to
delayed ambulance to reach at hospital.
• In proposed system we are trying to reduce the delay for the ambulance.
To smoothen the ambulance movement we come up with “ Intelligent
Traffic Signals Control System for Ambulance”.
4. INTRODUCTION
• Traffic administration has the goal to constantly improve traffic system
and regulation for ambulance and accident vehiclefor rescue operation .
• As the number of vehicle users constantly increases and resources
provided by current infrastructures are limited, intelligent control of traffic
will become a point of focus in the future.
• Avoiding traffic jams is beneficial to both environment and economy.
• In our research we focus and optimization of traffic light controller in a
city using IR sensor and developed using Arduino. An intelligent
transportation system (ITS) estimates the traffic parameters and optimizes
traffic signal to reduce vehicle delays and stop.
5. Literature Survey
• The author Zhang Yuye et.al. [1] System use AT89C51 and CAN BUS
controller which leads to complicated design and cost of the system more
because of CAN BUS controller. Also power requirement will be more in
case of AT89C51 but the proposed ITSC system will used low power AVR-
32 microcontroller.
• The author Manoj Kanta Mainali et.al.[2] proposed a genetic algorithm
approach to estimate the traffic volume in road sections without the traffic
information of road sections. This method can estimate the unknown traffic
volume using only the known traffic volumes
6. conti
• design a vehicle detection system based on magneto-resistive sensor
iscomposed by wireless traffic information collection nodes which are set on
two sides of road to detect vehicle signal. The magneto-resistive sensor is
costly and maintenance cost of the system will be more if the system fails.
• The author S.L.Toral et.al.[4] design will provide good result for vehicle
detection where ARM-based video processor not only deals with the video
processing algorithms but again the cost of system design will be more because
camera will be required to capture video .
7. Problem Statement
• In proposed system we are trying to reduced the delay for the ambulance.
To smoothen the ambulance movement we come up with Intelligent Trafc
Signals Control System for Ambulance . Here we are trying to save the
time for treatment in two ways like storing medical information and
providing a optimal route for the ambulance.Medical data get stored as the
medical history of that patient and will use in a emergency conditions. This
information
• will provide to the hospital before the patient get reach to hospital. This
leads to save the valuable time of patient. Another module deals with the
detection of Ambulance. The Ambulance get detected by the use of GPS
and RFID technology. These technologies helps to detect ambulance and
switch the signal to green. This also helps to suggest the nearest hospital
and the optimal route to reach hospital in time.

11. Objective
Provide free way to ambulance
Tackle the emergency conditions
Track real time location of ambulance
Suggest the nearest hospital and optimum route
Storage of medical data of user
12. Methodology
• Here we use arduino, gps, gsm,RF communication and wifi camera
• Programmed in c embedded system using arduino IDE
• It sense the vibration and send sms to police station
• This information will provide to the hospital before the patient get reach
to hospital.
• This leads to save the valuable time of patient. Another module deals with
the detection of Ambulance.
• The Ambulance get detected by the use of GPS and RF technology. These
technologies helps to detect ambulance and switch the signal to green.
• This also helps to suggest the nearest hospital and the optimal route to
reach hospital in time.

13. Software and Hardware Requirements
Hardware
• Arduino nano
• GPs
• GSM
• WIFI camera
• RF comn
• Traffic light, vibration sensor ,ir sensor
• software
• Arduino ide
• Embedded c
15. •ADVANTAGES
• Monitoring and controlling traffic lights on specified path to hospital
• To identify possibility of ambulance on the road by using GPS or RFID
• Suggest optimal route without traffic
• Store the health data of user and use in emergency situation
