This document provides a project synopsis for a study on employee morale at Mack Valves India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune. Topic : A STUDY ON JOB SATISFACTION OF EMPLOYEES AT PALM FIBRE (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED PATHIRAPALLY, ALAPPUZHA
Period : 1st June 2012 to 30th June 2012
A Study on “Job Satisfaction of Employees” was conducted in Cube Engitech Consultant Pvt. Ltd. The Primary objective of this research was to find the level of satisfaction of employees in the organization. The study was done as a part of descriptive research. Convenience sampling technique was used for selecting the sample. The primary data was collected by the means of a questionnaire. The secondary data was poised from the company records and websites. A structured questionnaire was circulated within fifty employees and the data collected was based on the same. Chi-square test and Likert scale method was used to analyze the data. Supreme care has been taken from the beginning of the preparation of the questionnaire up to the analysis, findings and suggestions. The analysis conducted lead to the conclusion that majority of the employees are satisfied. Dissatisfaction with locus to some of the factors was also reported. It was also found that dissatisfaction among employees will adversely affect the work performance and productivity of the organization. Valuable suggestions and recommendations are also made to the company for the better prospects based on the results derived.
It is significant research in the current scenario to investigate into the successful efforts in Recruitment and Promotion.

2. Executive Summary –
In employees morale morale represents a composite of feelings, attitudes
and sentiments that contribute to general feelings of satisfactions.
Employee engagement and employee satisfaction play an important role
for employees to be happy in their workplace. Employee who are not
happy in their workplace, who constantly complain and crib about yhe
various attributes in the organization, like employees policies, workplace
culture, facilities at work etc. Tend to have a low employee morale.
.Introduction:
Morale represents a composite of feelings, attitudes, and sentiments that contribute to general feelings of
satisfactions. It is a state of mind and spirit affecting willingness to work, which, in turn, affects orga-nizational
and individual objectives. It describes the overall group satisfaction. Employee morale is defined as the attitude,
satisfaction and overall outlook of employees during their association with an organization or a business. An
employee that is satisfied and motivated at workplace usually tend to have a higher morale than their
counterparts. Employee engagement and employee satisfaction play an important role for employees to be
happy in their workplace.On the contrary, employees who are not happy in their workplace, who constantly
complain and crib about the various attributes in an organization, like employee policies, workplace culture,
facilities at work etc. tend to have a low employee morale. This is quite evident in their behavior. Employee
morale is a complex concept because it involves a lot of factors that affect their morale.
Employee morale is the morale of employee in workspace environment .It is a proven to have a direct effects on
productivity.Morale is state of mind which involves feelings and emotions. Created within each employee, it is often
considered an elusive quality.

Research Methodology :
Research methodology is the specific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, process, and analyze
information about a topic. In a research paper, the methodology section allows.
Data collection: For the purpose of data collection researcher was relying on primary and secondary data.
The researcher has used primary and secondary sources for collecting data. Observation and discussion with the
concerned persons was also used. Structured questionnaire comprising of various questions relating to the
objectives of the study was main tool for data collection. The researcher has collected primary and secondary
data for the current research.

For this research primary data has been collected following methods:

As a field of applied statistics concentrating on human-research surveys, survey methodology studies the
sampling of individual units from a population and associated techniques of survey data collection, such as
questionnaire construction and methods for improving the number and accuracy of responses to surveys. Survey
methodology targets instruments or procedures that ask one or more questions that may or may not be answered.
Questionnaire has been prepared and mail to employee of a company.
2] Discussion method-
Discussion methods are a variety of forums for open-ended, collaborative exchange of ideas among a teacher
and students or among students for the purpose of furthering students thinking, learning, problem solving,
understanding, or literary appreciation.

In this chapter an attempt is made to explain and describe what the study is about. This chapter explains the
basis of the study and the benefits of the study, it also covers the assumptions behinds the study, how to
survey has been carried out and what tools were used for the study.

The present study focuses on Employee Morale in the Mack Valves India Pvt.Ltd,Pune . There are 120
employee’s working in the various departments .
Sampling design-
This present study researcher has focused on Employee Morale to Mack Valves India Pvt.Ltd,Pune. In this
company 120 employees are working ,researcher has taken care to have a equal chance of being selected from
population. Hence Census sampling method is being adopted to select the each respondent from each
departments.

Census sampling method- Census method is that process of the statistical list where all members of the
population are analysed. A population relates to the set of all observation under concern. The Census Sampling
Method have been used.

managers, head of departments,employee of the company and also workers and casuals working at shop floor.
Limitations of the study-
1) The research is done in the pandemic COVID-19 therefore some constraints have been faced.
2) The views of the employees might be change that’s why can’t be ensure about the validity.
3) Employee mostly hesitate to give answer that’s why it is difficult to analyze the precisely.

Chapter 5 : Findings, Suggestions and Conclusion
This chapter includes findings of the research study.
Findings:
After a thorough study and discussion with the Company’s Management &Employees :
Employees morale measures to knows its effectiveness in the organization self-designed questionnaire has been
prepared to gather the view of employees. The questionnaire contain 15 questions related to Employees Morale
topic.
The questions has been distributed to 120 employees from various department in the organization and they
were asked to answers the questions. Questions closed ended and multiple choice questions.
Latter all the answer questionnaires were collected and the responses were summed up and analysis was done
and interpretation was drawn up. To make the interpretation more meaningful beings represented in the form of
pie charts.
On the basis of data analysis & interpretation findings were drawn, they are as follow:
• More than 50% of employees work in technician department of the company.
• The organization mostly appointed experienced employees.
• Employees are satisfied all welfare facilities.
• Most of employees are satisfied regarding training and resources.
• Employees feel that job is very challenging.
• Supervisors always recognize the work of the employees.
7. • The employees are given respect in the organization.
• The views and participation are always valued in the organization.
• Most of the employees said that there are many opportunities in the organization.
• Job responsibilities are clearly defined to the employees.
• There is given regular feedback regarding to the work of the employees.
• Often there is the supportiveness from the management to the employees in the organization.
• Management always responds to the employees issue .
• The employee are highly satisfied with the compensation plans.
• There is a positive team sprite between the employees in the organization.
Suggestions:
• The Supervisors and HOD’s should give regular feedback on performance by holding informal meetings
with each individual. HOD’s should appreciated and encourage employees to work hard.
• All the employees should be treated equally and there should not be any bias treatment.
• If an employees has gained additional skills he/ she should be assigned task related to the same so that
they can utilize his/her skills and feel motivated towards the work.
• The administration policies should be updated and displayed on the notice boards so that all the
employees are aware of all the policies.
• HR department should interact with the employees and make them believe that HR conducts
extracurricular activities for their wellbeing and should inspire and motivate the employees to
participation.
• The company should consider opinion of the employees in order to minimize the labor unrest.
• To improve organizational climate it is very important to bridge the gap between skills requirement and
skills availability.
Conclusion:
8. Findings and suggestions are based on survey conducted and these points are to be looked into the steps are to
taken in these regards for higher growth.
From the analysis, I conclude that most of the job provide opportunities to the employees to exercise his/ her
skills at work place.
Few of the employees accepted that there is a considerable flexibility in coordinating with work and they are
satisfied with the existing interpersonal communication but most of the employees.
In Mack Valves India pvt.Ltd. They use to follow systematic planning and review process to evaluate the
performance of employees but due to labor unrest strategic planning has been distributed in the organization
resulting most of the employees are not satisfied in the organization.
In the centrality of work in modern economics has made an understanding of the psychology of motivation
and job satisfaction a key component of business and management education syllabus.
It now suffer to same extend from being taught as a set of sophisticated and problem speculation about the
nature of human motivations however.
Finally, I would like to be conclude that employee morale is very important aspect in healthy and smooth
working of the organization.
