INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
Global Positioning System (GPS) is a spacebased
satellite navigation system provides location & time
data in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near
the Earth
• It is maintained by the United States govt & is freely
accessible to anyone with a GPS receiver.
• Contains Computer that "triangulates" its own
position by getting bearings from at least 3 satellites.
• Resultant data is provided in the form of a
geographic position - longitude and latitude - within
an accuracy of 10 to 100 meters.

INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
Location Based Services(LBS)
• Determine nearest possible location of places like
hotels,ATM etc
• Receive beneficial alerts such as-news about traffic
jams,sale in shopping malls,specific route.
• LBS services are typically made for customers-
-Public safety
-Consumer services
-Reminders

MOTIVATIONMOTIVATION
To make route easy :-
• To assist with the exact information, at right place in
real time with personalized setup and location
sensitiveness.
• To provide Location Based Services
September 19, 2015PIET, Dept of Computer Technology. 5
PROBLEM STATEMENTPROBLEM STATEMENT
• Updation of GPS in less time.
• Selecting shortest route from ‘n’ route.
• Changing route from one to another.
• Message sending in emergency situation via text
message.
September 19, 2015PIET, Dept of Computer Technology. 6
OBJECTIVEOBJECTIVE
• Update GPS in less time.
• Select appropriate route in runtime.
• Profile changer based on place or area.
• Person Location tracking by Family Member(SMS).
• Nearest Friends notification reminder.
• Restricted area.
September 19, 2015PIET, Dept of Computer Technology. 7
LITERATURE REVIEWLITERATURE REVIEW
• Adding and editing task
• Storing task in SQLite database
• Tracking and displaying location
• Viewing retail discount information
• Retrieving information on mobile device
• Task around few Km displayed as alert

EXPECTED CONCLUSIONEXPECTED CONCLUSION
• There are various constraints to implement Location
Based Services. The different kinds of constraints
include :
• Technology Constraints :-
• The most important factor in enabling the growth of
LBS is wide availability of cheap GPS enabled
handsets. GPS enabled handsets are being
manufactured now days.
