Choose Time as your first compromise option – agree to extend the target implementation date
Increase the Costof delivery as your second option – build a contingency spend into your plans
Limit the Scopeof the project as your third option – reduce its size rather than cutting corners
Sacrifice Quality as your final option – this is the greatest risk to the
overall success of your project, people engagement, and end-user satisfaction
Ensure your project runs efficiently – manage stakeholder expectations,
set clear milestones and go/no-go criteria, and don’t avoid difficult decisions
Minimise scope creep – accede by exception only & subject to full sign-off
Fix any bugs pre-launch – don’t just accept them as inevitable by-products
Tackle your issues as they arise – don’t fall victim to the domino’s effect!

View target implementation dates as aspirational, not set in stone – unless they are mandatory Choose Time as your first compromise option – agree to extend the target implementation date Increase the Costof delivery as your second option – build a contingency spend into your plans Limit the Scopeof the project as your third option – reduce its size rather than cutting corners Sacrifice Quality as your final option – this is the greatest risk to the overall success of your project, people engagement, and end-user satisfaction Ensure your project runs efficiently – manage stakeholder expectations, set clear milestones and go/no-go criteria, and don’t avoid difficult decisions Minimise scope creep – accede by exception only & subject to full sign-off Fix any bugs pre-launch – don’t just accept them as inevitable by-products Tackle your issues as they arise – don’t fall victim to the domino’s effect!
