DEFINITION
THE PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE IS USED TO DESCRIBE ACTIONS

PERIOD OF TIME AFTER THE ACTION STARTED. THIS TENSE
DESCRIBES ACTIONS OR EVENTS THAT HAPPENED AT A SPECIFIC
TIME IN THE PAST.

1. TO INDICATE AN ACTION THAT OCCURS DURING A PARTICULAR MOMENT IN
THE PAST.
2. TO DESCRIBE AN UNFINISHED ACTION THAT WAS INTERRUPTED BY ANOTHER
EVENT OR ACTION.
3. FOR SOMETHING WHICH CONTINUED BEFORE AND AFTER ANOTHER ACTION.
4. OR SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED BEFORE AND AFTER A PARTICULAR TIME.
5. TO SHOW THAT SOMETHING CONTINUED FOR SOME TIME.
6. OR SOMETHING THAT WAS HAPPENING AGAIN AND AGAIN.
