Case Study: Europeana API Implementation in Polish Digital Libraries
In 2009, PSNC, the operator of Polish Digital Libraries Federation, began working with Europeana and exploiting the potential of promoting Polish cultural heritage content across Europe with the aim of creating wider access and facilitating re-use of their content. Europeana’s API has provided a good platform for this, both enriching existing services and providing a wider breadth of content to users of the DLW and DLF services. Through a number of widgets, DLW and DLF have utilised Europeana’s API to bring in content from Europeana that is related to search queries on their existing websites. This provides end-users with more choice as results are returned from hundreds of other trusted heritage institutions across Europe via the Europeana API.
Case Study: Europeana & Partners on Pinterest
In 2012, our end-user engagement programme explored the value of Pinterest for cultural heritage institutions and took content from five Europeana partners, the University of Barcelona, Biblioteca de Catalunya, the Swedish National Heritage Board, Varna Public Library and the Swedish Royal Armoury.

- 1. I started with a Black background.
- 2. I then copied an image from the DAFONT and changed the fill and opacity levels.
- 3. I then added the same image on top of the previous image and edited the image to make the image seem drawn on.
- 4. I then added the Billing block.
- 5. I then added the title and the tagline of the film.
- 6. I then added one of my original images to the poster and placed it behind the demonic symbol.
- 7. I then added another original image behind the first image this then reduced the brightness of the first image and in general the poster.
- 8. I then used the rubber tool to rub out the middle of the symbol, allowing you to clearly see there faces. I then made my males eyes black to suggest demonic possession.
