2. Introduction
PKTR is a prestigious national leadership program for
secondary school graduates of Malaysia that is organised
as an initiative by Yayasan Tun Razak that has been
implemented since 1993.
3. The
Overarching
Objective
YTR aims to unearth, nurture and
provide a foundation for the
leadership talents of the younger
generation in Malaysia amongst the
SPM graduates of Malaysia.
4. Our Solution
There is an existing gap within the
Malaysian curriculum and co-curricular
experience that is devoid or limited in
opportunities for the students of
Malaysia to have exposure beyond the
classroom setting.
YTR seeks to provide the selected
candidates with this through lectures
and townhall discussions with leading
corporate figures, statesmen and
young professionals as well as visits to
important national institutions and
organisations.
5. There will be a maximum of 70 students aged 17 - 18 who have completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia
(SPM) examinations in March 2024 and are awaiting for their results in mid-2024 that will be selected.
The participants are students of various ethnicities and religions who come from schools from every state in
Malaysia. The Program is open to students from all types of schools in Malaysia, including but not limited to
urban and rural national schools, MRSMs, fully residential schools, religious schools and vernacular schools.
The respective schools are responsible for the nomination of the candidates who will then attend and undergo
an interview session conducted by Yayasan Tun Razak.

being active in co-curricular activities throughout their education
are the typical individuals who attend and excel in the Program.
- Interview performance

consisting of YTR stakeholders and Program alumni, to assess
the interviewee beyond the certificates of achievements that
they have been awarded. Candidates are tested on their
interpersonal skills, worldview, knowledge and awareness of
the world around them as well as their views and opinions on
