Electrochemical Evaluation of Pt/GMC and Pt/rGO for the Electro-oxidation of ...David Macias Ferrer
In this work, Pt/GMC and Pt/rGO electrocatalysts have been prepared by impregnation reduction method in which Pt precursor is chemically reduced by citric acid, ethanol and Ar-H2 dynamic atmosphere. Graphitic mesoporous carbon (GMC) sample was synthesized via nanocasting process with anhydrous pyrolysis at 1273 K using SBA-15 as hard template and purified sugar as carbon source. SBA-15 was prepared via sol gel using pluronic P-123 as surfactant and TEOS as silica precursor. Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was synthesized by modified Hummers method using graphite as carbon precursor. The prepared materials were characterized by means of N2 physisorption analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The performance of electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) was measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The electrochemical characterization techniques revealed that the mass activity of Pt/GMC, Pt/GO and the commercial electrocatalyst Pt/C were 627, 332 and 308 mA/mgPt respectively as well as the carbon monoxide tolerance index ICO for these catalysts were 1.07, 1.04 and 0.63 respectively. Therefore, Pt/GMC and Pt/GO exhibit better electrocatalytic performance and best resistance to carbonaceous intermediates species for the electrooxidation of methanol.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

XV LATIN AMERICAN CONFERENCE ON THE APPLICATIONS OF THE MÖSSBAUER
EFFECT - LACAME 2016
LACAME (Latin American Conference on Applications of Mössbauer Effect) is a series of scientific
events that take place every two years in some Latin American country. In November 1988, the first
LACAME was organized in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by Elisa Baggio Saitovitch with the help of Rosa
Scorzelli. Since then, LACAME has grown in prestige and enthusiasm, with new young people joining
it and a refreshing feeling of belonging to a convening community which has attained a level of good
international prestige. The Mössbauer community in Latin America has experienced an increase in
scientific activities, with the number of active Mössbauer laboratories more concentrated in Brazil,
Argentina, and Colombia.
After Brazil, LACAME was successfully held in Cuba (1990), Argentina (1992), Chile (1994), Peru
(1996), Colombia (1998), Venezuela (2000), Panama (2002), Mexico (2004), Brazil (2006), Argentina
(2008), Peru (2010), Colombia (2012) and Mexico (2014). Now it is the once again the turn of
Panama. The XV Latin American Conference on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect - LACAME
2016 aims to bring together the Latin American and the International community, to promote activities
of basic and applied research, to encourage interaction among students, young and senior
researchers, and strengthen international cooperation in this field.
A broad range of topics are covered during the conference, including experimentation and data
processing, amorphous, nanocrystals and nanoparticles, soils, mineralogy, geology and
archaeology, biological and medical applications, catalysis, corrosion and environment, chemical
applications, structure and bonding, industrial applications, magnetism and magnetic materials,
multilayers, thin films and artificially structured materials, physical metallurgy and materials science.
You are warmly invited to participate in LACAME 2016. I give the warmest welcome to all participants
in this conference. I hope LACAME will not only provide a forum to exchange scientific ideas, but
also serve as an inspiration for new and better research, and allow participants to build the
collaboration among Latin American groups, and to generate partnerships with our friends from
abroad.
Welcome you all to LACAME‐2016.
