Also, you can use the end of the workday to see what worked and what didn’t and improve your performance. These 4 questions will help you to end the workday in the best possible way. Question 1 checks in to whether you achieved the priorities you set at the beginning of the day. Question 2 looks for what is working so you can double down on this. Question 3 looks at what isn’t working and focuses on how to find solutions. Question 4 is about finding enjoyment and fulfilment in every work day. You Absolutely Should Ask
at the End of Every Day

5. Everyone talks about
how important
the morning routine is

6. Because it sets the tone for the rest of the day

7. But it’s easy to neglect how important it is to
finish the day properly too.

8. For 3 reasons:

9. 1. If you end the day well, you’ll feel better
about the day as a whole
2. You can set the tone for the next day by
preparing the night before
3. When you review how the day has gone
you can learn and improve

10. So now that we agree
it’s good to end the day well…

11. Here are 4 questions
that you can ask
at the end of the day

12. Question ONE

13. Did I achieve my priorities
for the day?

14. Not all tasks are created equal

15. Some tasks should be priorities.
While others are less important.

16. Your list of priorities at the beginning of the
day should have between 1-6 items you
definitely want to get done

17. At the end of the day, go through that list of
priorities and see which ones you did.

18. And for ones you didn’t do,
look for any patterns…

19. If you routinely set yourself 5 priorities
but only get 3 done,
maybe you’re expecting too much?

20. Or if there’s always one particular task that
never gets done, ask why that is?

21. Can it be modified, removed or delegated?

22. Doing this check on your priorities keeps you
accountable and gives you valuable feedback on
your performance.

23. Question TWO

24. What went well today?

25. This question focuses on the things that you
did right, which is motivating and encouraging.

26. Rather than just brushing aside victories, this
makes you highlight and celebrate them.

27. Question THREE

28. What could be improved?

29. Instead of the negatively worded
“What went wrong today?”,
this is about proactively looking
for ways to improve.

30. Also, when you ask this question,
you’re not just highlighting problems,
but also searching for solutions.

31. Question FOUR

32. What did I appreciate or enjoy today?

33. This is about highlighting
what’s good in your life.

34. Your questions determine your focus, and in
this case, it’s about acknowledging varied
moments like:

35. Getting a new client
Bossing a meeting
A productive deep work session
A good talk with a colleague

36. It doesn’t even need to be work-related stuff,
but just good things that happened while you
were working.

37. This makes you appreciate the day, and look
forward to tomorrow.

38. So those are the 4 questions

2. What went well today?
3. What could be improved?
4. What did I appreciate or enjoy today?

40. A good thing to do is to write these
4 questions at the end of your to-do list
so you remember to ask them.
