- 1. Production Log Best lighting when coming from above, also biggest issue whilst filming indoors - Best filming time ~12pm with sun above to allow light in - Light coming from behind with a computer screen caused shadows on the face, made brighter through colour correction When using smaller rooms getting the right angle for space was also a big issue - Wider angle lens helped make the shot look natural used riff to match up the guitar playing with a shot of the guitar - filmed later in the day using a studio light. The colours weren’t as pronounced and so I wanted the red to be more vibrant, I achieved this through colour grading during the first shot of the main character waking up I was initially going to film it from the front - tripod was unstable, couldn’t be a handheld shot - changed to the side to create a more stable shot but kept the sleeping idea
- 2. used a shot of a reflection in a mirror - had to make sure that the camera didn’t get in shot - had to make there wasn’t light reflection due to above head lighting I used the intro of the initial music video to pay homage to the video. Remains with the same theme - Sharpened the colour so it’s not as vintage looking but doesn’t stray from the original too far The shot of the singers mouth was hard to film due to the lack of space this was harder to film - Used a wider angle lens - Found the best lighting in the room to create a more natural look the shot transition between the singer on the sofa to the door was difficult because I had to make sure it flowed smoothly as it transitioned mid lyric - filmed multiple times to get the right shot - watched closely to make sure it all lines up
- 3. - used movement to transition much smoother chorus shots were on beat smashes - had to make sure the shot was good as I only had one try per video as the filming went on it began to get dark - I made this work by making it follow throughout the man’s day, making it seem like a progression of the day, following him from start to finish - Colour correction allowed me to change the brightness on the days that I had to film later on
