New Riverside produces two grades of Ochre pigments that are called simply 548 and 404. The 548
is most commonly used as it is only slightly darker in color and lower in price than the 404. The
pigments are used to color cement and cement products, roofing granules, clay brick, paper,
canvas, large animal feeds, fertilizers, coatings, grouts and urethane floor coverings. They are
lightfast, insoluble in water, resistant to alkalies and weak acids and non-reactive with solvents, oils
and most resins.
