Using the several artist paintings as well as Rembrand famous Prodigal Son we reflect about the meaning of embracing the needed as well as what it mean to return home.
The parable tells the story of a man with two sons. The younger son asks for his inheritance early and leaves home, squandering his money through dissolute living. When a famine hits, he becomes destitute and returns home in repentance. Surprisingly, the father welcomes him back with open arms, celebrating his return. The older son is angry that his brother is celebrated after wasting his inheritance, showing that he lacks his father's compassion. The parable illustrates God's radical acceptance and forgiveness of repentant sinners, in contrast to the self-righteousness of religious elites.

The document discusses the origins and history of Christmas traditions. While Christmas is celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ, the Bible does not specify a date and analyses of scripture suggest Jesus was likely born in September, not December. Many Christmas traditions, such as Christmas trees, wreaths, mistletoe and Santa Claus, originated from pre-Christian pagan winter solstice festivals. The date of December 25th was chosen by early Christian churches to coincide with these pagan festivals in order to make the new religion more appealing. The document cautions against adopting pagan traditions and idolatry.

This document discusses how it is never too late for lost souls to come home. It provides examples of four types of lost people: coins who don't know they are lost, sheep who know they are lost but not the way home, prodigals who know they are lost and the way home, and brothers who know the way home but refuse to come. It tells how each type can be reached and encouraged to return home, using the parable of the prodigal son to illustrate how we may recognize ourselves in his story of straying and returning. The key message is that no matter how far one has strayed, it is never too late to repent and come home to God.

Him in those eighteen hidden

was doing from the time He
was twelve until He was about
The thirty. Take the two state-

two passages supply the story
of the eighteen years. Jesus
was a carpenter pleasing God.
I wish you happiness in everything you do,
I hope not many worries or problems will come to you.
I wish you hope that can brighten the cloudiest day,
And strength to accept all that life sends your way.
May you rise each day with sunlight in your heart,
And may all your hopes and dreams never fall apart.
With my warmest thoughts and memories of you,
I wish that all your joys and wishes will come true.
When these special wishes are delivered to your door,
There's no doubt they will be accompanied by many more.
Of all the Christmas wishes delivered to you yearly,
There couldn't be another that's wished more warmly or sincerely. Merry Christmas to ALL. Sanja
The document is a collection of poems, prayers, and passages celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It discusses how God gave us the joy of Christmas through the virgin birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. It asks readers to remember that Jesus is the true reason for Christmas and brings gifts to earth. It prays that readers' hearts will be filled with joy, love, and thankfulness during Christmas and all seasons to come.
Santa visits a person just before Christmas and pulls various Christmas symbols out of his bag, instructing the person to teach children about their true meanings. He explains that the fir tree represents everlasting hope, the star was the sign of God's promise to save mankind, and the candle symbolizes Jesus as the light of the world. Santa wants to remind people that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus, not about material gifts or Santa himself.
The document discusses the parable of the prodigal son from the Bible. It describes the three main characters: 1) The younger son who squandered his inheritance and returned home in need. 2) The older son who was resentful of his father's forgiveness. 3) The loving father who compassionately welcomed his returning son. The father exemplifies qualities of mercy like forgiveness, generosity and grace. The document encourages the reader to cultivate these merciful qualities and find joy through prayer, self-acceptance, responsibility, balance, acts of love, and effective communication.
A man brings his demon-possessed son to Jesus for healing after the disciples were unable to cure him. Jesus rebukes the unbelieving generation and heals the boy with a single command. When the disciples ask why they could not do the same, Jesus tells them it was because of their small faith and that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. He also again foretells his death and resurrection.
The document appears to be discussing themes of achievement, addiction, and personal worth. It includes quotes about how those who are addicted to achievement seek meaning and value through their accomplishments, but are unable to accept worth not derived from what they achieve. The document also contains passages from the biblical story of the prodigal son, about a father welcoming home his younger son who had wasted his inheritance. The inclusion of this parable seems to relate it to the themes of seeking meaning and value through vain pursuits, and finding worth through unconditional love rather than what is deserved.

In Luke 15:11-32, we’ll find the parable called “the parable of the prodigal son.” But what is a parable? Based on Wiki – a parable is a succinct, didactic story, in prose or verse, which illustrates one or more instructive lessons or principles. It differs from a fable in that fables employ animals, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature as characters, whereas parables have human characters.
A parable is a type of analogy. Or simply put, a parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.

I. The younger son demands his inheritance and leaves home, squandering it all. II. Facing hardship, he returns home in repentance. III. The loving father restores him fully, to the anger of the elder son, showing God's gracious love for repentant sinners.
Jesus tells the parable of the prodigal son to the Pharisees and scribes who were murmuring that he associates with sinners. The parable depicts a father with two sons - a younger son who squanders his inheritance and ends up poor, and an older son. The younger son returns home seeking forgiveness and is warmly received by his forgiving father, though this angers the older son. The parable teaches that God rejoices at the repentance of sinners like the prodigal son.
Jesus used parables to indirectly impart spiritual lessons that require humility and openness to understand fully. Parables do not provide explicit or direct answers, but instead prompt exploration and questioning in a way that renders the hearers as childlike rather than knowledgable. The parable of the prodigal son in particular illustrates the father's all-encompassing love that transcends expectations and brings reconciliation, as represented by his warm welcome of the returning son.

Later in life Rembrandt struggled financially and had to sell many of his possessions, including his house and printing press. He had many students who copied his work, making attributions of his paintings difficult, and there is ongoing debate about some attributions among art historians.
Love God.
Love Your Neighbor.
Jesus called these the two most important commandments of all time. When He said this, He was making something clear to His listeners then as He does now: in life, it all boils down to our relationships. Using the example of LEGO®, a company that has been transforming the way people play for more than fifty years, Joey Bonifacio shows you how to make a difference, one connection at a time.
Repentance is necessary for our salvation, but what does it mean? The Parable of the Prodigal Son provides a beautiful picture of repentance demonstrating the necessity of honesty, humility and action.
A shepherd was leading his hundred sheep to greener pastures to feed and rest, but one sheep strayed from the trail unknown to itself, putting it in danger. When counting his flock, the shepherd discovered one was missing and quickly left the others to search relentlessly up and down the hills until he found the lost sheep. The joy the shepherd felt mirrors the joy in heaven for every soul that repents and turns to Christ, encouraging believers to invest their lives in winning lost souls.

It also examines how social factors like economics, media, and politics impact families. Additionally, it outlines that the Bible portrays diverse family configurations and that the early church viewed itself as a family of believers. The church should support all types of families and minister in a way that creates a caring community for people of all situations.
The document discusses the history of authority in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and implications for the Hispanic Disciples ethos. It outlines different views of authority in the local church and a 1968 restructuring that shifted from autonomous congregations to a view of one church body united in covenantal relationship across local, regional and general expressions. The lack of Hispanic involvement in theological discussions and restructuring resulted in Hispanic churches maintaining autonomy and independently developing a distinctive Hispanic Disciples identity.
This document provides guidelines for starting a Hispanic ministry within a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation. It recommends beginning with prayer, learning about Hispanic culture and theology, envisioning opportunities to serve the Hispanic community, networking with existing Hispanic ministries, visiting Hispanic worship services, and partnering with a Hispanic congregation. The guidelines also address issues like facilities use, financial arrangements, membership, and ensuring the new ministry is supported at the regional and general church level. The overall goal is for congregations to better serve the growing Hispanic population through new models of multiethnic, bilingual or multi-site churches.
The document discusses the importance of unity in the Christian church. It states that unity is a gift from God created by the Holy Spirit. While unity is given, Christians must work to preserve it. They must not allow differences in backgrounds, statuses, or beliefs to divide them, but instead see each other as part of the one body of believers with one Spirit. Disunity is against Christ's teachings, so Christians should strive to maintain unity and prevent anything from encouraging division.
This is a presentation about the Hispanic history in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It shows how they started, how they are organized, the purpose of the Central Pastoral Office, and some photos.

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.
God calls us to a journey of worshiping Him. In this journey you will encounter different obstacles and derailments that will want to sway you from worshiping God. You got to be intentional in breaking the barriers staged on your way of worship in order to offer God acceptable worship.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
