Position Description/Requirements
The HSC Process Automation Engineer (DCS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and
maintaining DCS process control systems for the HSC-Hemlock site. Support for ongoing operations
is achieved by contributing improvements toward the goals of safe process automation, stable and
reliable systems, and productivity-driven automation solutions. Additionally, this person will serve as
Automation Representative to implement capital and expense projects in his or her area of focus. On-call
support for 24/7 process operation is needed on an occasional basis.
Activities:
- Applies common methodologies and techniques (e.g. Six Sigma, Situational Leadership, Lean
Manufacturing, etc.) to maximize productivity.
- Limit / eliminate OEE and TEEP root causes related to process control.
- Works with Global Capital Engineering and Procurement teams to implement Process Co ntrol &
Automation Systems.
- Ensures that process control & automation based activities are in compliance with Dow Corning
standards and policies, meeting local, state and federal/national legal and process safety and SOX
requirements.
- Cooperates with other site resources as required to facilitate achievement of common or
complementary activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical)
or equivalent

2. 3-5 years experience with DCS application engineering in a chemical manufacturing environment is
required; experience with configuration of ABB 800xA DCS is strongly desired.
