Teen smoking has become a problem, as teens often smoke in unsupervised areas to look cool or due to peer pressure. This can lead to health risks. One proposed solution is to improve education for both teens and parents through a K-12 program on smoking to inform them of health risks and discourage smoking. Another is to have guest speakers discuss the issue with teens to show smoking is not widely accepted. A third is to improve media by banning smoking ads and imagery to change social norms around cigarettes. The proposed best approach is to improve media through these tactics as teens are influenced by their public image.
