Soc 200 course reflection [kp]
This student took a sociology course despite initially thinking it would be irrelevant to their nursing major. They went into the course expecting it to be like a history class. However, after learning the course studied how society interacts, the student became very interested. The student learned many things they had never considered before and their expectations were exceeded. Key topics covered included race, gender, and sexuality. The most impactful part for the student was discussing modern discrimination issues in depth and realizing how pervasive discrimination remains. The course opened their eyes and changed their perspective on societal issues.
