FIELD TRIP ONE
MORMON ROCKS
The rock formation was formed as a result of movement along the San
Andreas Fault.
GRANULAR STRUCTURE
The granular structure is made up of sedimentary rocks, which
developed over time
CINDER HILL
This volcano is called cinder hill (cinder cone)
LAVA FLOWS
THE LAVA FLOWS ARE MADE UP OF BALSALTIC LAVA COOLING RIGHT
AFTER IT FLOWED OUT OF THE LAVA
FOSSILS FALLS
The falls were formed when the river was forced to divert its course over
a basalt flow, polishing and reshaping the rock into a variety of unique
shapes and forms.
HOUSE RINGS & PETROGLYPHS
• HOUSE RINGS
• House rings were used as foundation to
build Native American houses on
PETROGLYPHS
NATIVE AMERICANS USED TO WRITE
AND DRAW ON ROCKS- THESE ARE
SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN
AROUND FOR 10,000 YEARS
