2. Outline
1. Intoduction to vibrration
2. About Abaqus
3. About Ansys
4. Comparism of abaqus and ansys softwares
5. Conclusion
3. 1. Introduction to vibration
Vibration :- is Movement of a body
about a reference.
• Response to some form of excitation
• The excitation is generally referred to as a
forcing function.
4. Sources of Vibration
• Imbalance
• Misalignment
• Belts
• Gears
• Bearings
• Rolling Element
• Sleeve
• Looseness
• Electrical Anomalies
• Oil Instability
• Resonance
5. 2. About Abaqus
Abaqus software :- is a finite element solver
software basically it has the following
• Linear and nonlinear analysis
• Implicit and explicit solver
• Pre and post-processor
• Accurate FEA result
6. 3. About ansys
• Ansys is a software is used to simulate computer models of
structures, electronics, or machine components for analyzing
the strength, toughness, elasticity, temperature distribution,
electromagnetism, fluid flow, and other attributes.
Ansys is used to determine how a product will function with
different specifications, without building test products or
conducting crash tests.
7. CONT….
• For example, Ansys software may simulate
how a bridge will hold up after years of traffic,
how to best process salmon in a cannery to reduce
waste,
how to design a slide that uses less material
without sacrificing safety.
8. ANSYS & ABAQUS introduction
• ANSYS stands for the analysis system.
• ABAQUS means finite element computer code.
• These two finite element software simulate mechanical
analysis for engineering and design purposes such as
stress evaluation, optimizing a design, buckling process,
static and dynamic analysis, structures behavior under
different loading conditions, etc.
9. 4.Conclution
• Generally, ABAQUS is more popular in nonlinear analysis.
For instance, elements destruction, wave impacts on platform
columns and other similar problems, and time-related
problems.
• On the other hand, static, quasi-static, and dynamic problems
can be simulated better in ANSYS.
• So that ABAQUS is batter for vibration.
