All living things go through life cycles that involve different stages of development. For humans, the stages are baby, child, adolescent, adult, and elder. The butterfly's life cycle has 5 stages - egg, caterpillar, pupa, young butterfly, and adult butterfly. As a caterpillar, it eats leaves and grows, then forms a pupa and changes into a butterfly, which then lays new eggs to restart the cycle.

quickly, to turn from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
•The pupa is the only inactive stage in the life
cycle.( does not move)

comes out of the pupa.
•The pupa is like a hard shell, where the
young butterfly comes out of but does
not fly.

makes new eggs and looks for a leaf to
lay them on it.
