From my research and planning, I have learnt a lot more about what
goes into making a film opening. From making the final product, I now
have a better understanding of how everything works more. I now know
how to use a wider range of different camera angles etc. Another thing
that I have learnt is to think about the lighting, etc. This is because, the
first time we shot the final product first time, we realised that there
wasn’t enough lighting. When we shot it again, we filmed during the
day. This made it easier to see what was happening.
In the preliminary task, we didn’t use as many actors. This made it more
simple. However, in the final product, we used more actors which made
it better because it helped to give a better storyline. Another thing that I
wasn’t able to do for the preliminary task was to hold a steady shot.
However, for the final product, I used a fig rig and a tripod which helped
to keep the camera steady and in one place.
In both the prelim and final versions, I used a side
tracking shot. However, in the final version, the footage
is a lot more shaken as it was really hard for me to keep
the camera still.
In both versions, I also used a low angle shot where the
camera is looking up at the character. However, the
camera was more stable for the final version as I was
using a tripod.
Also, in both the prelim and final versions, I also used
almost like an over the shoulder shot. However, in the final
version, the camera is further back so you can see more of
what is happening.
