It consists of a fixed vertical ram inside
which is provided a central liquid passage
of small diameter.
This fixed cylinder ram is surrounded by a
closely fitted brass brushes.
Outermost layer is an inverted sliding
cylinder having a circular projected collar
on which loads are placed.
Inlet and Outlet pumps.
 The passage for liquid to enter and leave
the unit are provided with the fixed ram
which is connected to the inlet and outlet
pipes.
 Pump is a hydraulic device used to convert
the input mechanical energy into hydraulic
energy.
 The liquid supplied from the pump enters
the cylinder through the central vertical
hole provided in the fixed ram.
 This hydraulic energy causes the loaded
cylinder to move upwards and this motion
happens until it is balanced by the weight of
the load.
 And once equibrilium is attained the energy is
stored in this system of differential hydraulic
accumulator and it acts a source of energy for
various purposes like lifting machines etc.
 During the downward motion of the loaded ram
the liquid accumulated is pushed to the exit
pipe and this source of energy is used for the
applications.
