 I feel that the choice in the black background and the use of
   lighting makes the viewer focus more on the product being sold.
Logo
 Apples logo is well known and can be related to good quality
   products.

 When viewers see this logo they are more likely to attract to the
   advertisement.
Typeface
 The typeface in the first ad is simple and does not take up a
   majority of the ad.

 This allows more focus on the item being sold
