6. Neural networks
Interactions between neurons and neuronal aggregations are most
accurately described as networks (a combination of hierarchies and
parallel processors) (Greenfield, 1995)
Specialized ”silos” offer certain local benefits – but for global
value generation we need the connections

Empower, encourage and motivate. Building infrastructure is a
long term investment representing a big societal change. What
do we want to accomplish?
Supply side: remove legal, technical, semantic and
organizational barriers to interoperability and re-use
