28 students divided into 6 groups
4.- SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITY
In this activity, the students learned the process of the scentific
method by using it from the very beginning. They asked themselves
a question and they designed an experiment in order to draw a
conclusion. The final products were three: a laboratory report, a
research paper* and a video of the whole process.

5.- OBJECTIVES
The student is able to formulate hypothesis to explain phenomena
using theories and scientific models.
The student records observations, data and results in a organised
way and he comunicates them using schemes, graphs, tables
and/or mathematics expressions.
The student elaborates research projects about some topics using
the scientific method and the ICT (Information and Comunication
Technologies).
The student participates and respects the individual work and team
work.

6.- CONTENTS
The contents worked on this project are related to the first unit
about the scientific activity. The main contents are:
The concept of the scientific method: its steps.
Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

7.- METHODOLOGY
Project based learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students gain
knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate
and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or
challenge.

7.- METHODOLOGY
First step: Build teams
Second step: Definition of the final products
Third step: The driving question
Fourth step: Negotiate the criteria for evaluating the projects
Fifth step: Students propose a laboratory report
Sixth step: Students conduct their experiments and elaborate the laboratory report
Seventh step: Students elaborate the research paper
Eigth step: Students elaborate the final video of the whole process
Ninth step: Evaluation of the products using the rubric

8.- EVALUATION INSTRUMENTS
We used an assesment rubric to evaluate the projects.

9.- CONCLUSIONS
Although the research papers are not finished yet, the partial
results of the project are promising as the videos show. The students
are supposed to understand deeply the scientific method and they will
be able to reproduce on future projects.

SHARING GOOD TEACHING PRACTICES” 1.- SUJECT Physics and Chemistry 2.- EDUCATION LEVEL 3rd ESO A, 13-14 years old 3.- NUMBER OF STUDENTS 28 students divided into 6 groups 4.- SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITY In this activity, the students learned the process of the scentific method by using it from the very beginning. They asked themselves a question and they designed an experiment in order to draw a conclusion. The final products were three: a laboratory report, a research paper* and a video of the whole process. *Ongoing

SHARING GOOD TEACHING PRACTICES” 5.- OBJECTIVES The student is able to formulate hypothesis to explain phenomena using theories and scientific models. The student records observations, data and results in a organised way and he comunicates them using schemes, graphs, tables and/or mathematics expressions. The student elaborates research projects about some topics using the scientific method and the ICT (Information and Comunication Technologies). The student participates and respects the individual work and team work.

The main contents are: The concept of the scientific method: its steps. Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Research project

SHARING GOOD TEACHING PRACTICES” 7.- METHODOLOGY Project based learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge.

SHARING GOOD TEACHING PRACTICES” 7.- METHODOLOGY First step: Build teams Second step: Definition of the final products Third step: The driving question Fourth step: Negotiate the criteria for evaluating the projects Fifth step: Students propose a laboratory report Sixth step: Students conduct their experiments and elaborate the laboratory report Seventh step: Students elaborate the research paper Eigth step: Students elaborate the final video of the whole process Ninth step: Evaluation of the products using the rubric

SHARING GOOD TEACHING PRACTICES” 9.- CONCLUSIONS Although the research papers are not finished yet, the partial results of the project are promising as the videos show. The students are supposed to understand deeply the scientific method and they will be able to reproduce on future projects.
