• Product demonstration is a promotion where
a product is demonstrated to potential
customers.
• The primary goal of product demonstration is
to introduce customers to the product and
make the purchase faster.
• The demos may be of upcoming products,
recently launched products or even existing
products.
Types of Product Demonstrations
Following are a few types of product Demonstrations
• In-store Product Demos
• In-home Product Demonstration
• Trade Shows
• Fairs
• Advertisments
In-Store Product demos
• This type of demonstrations are carried out in
the official store or the outlet of the company.
• Usually, FMCG products, household products,
personal care, food fall under in-store
demonstrations.
• The customer can experience the products
physically.
In-home Product demonstrations
• These product demonstrations are given for
home care products and pharmaceutical
products by door-to-door salespeople.
• This is much laborious compared to the others
demonstrations.
• In-home demonstrations are costlier for the
companies.
Trade Shows
• Trade shows are common place for all kinds of
similar products where they are put on display
for the audience.
• A common hall or ground is booked and every
company is invited to set up their stalls or
store.
• The advantage for customers is that they can
do comparison immediately
Fairs
• Fairs are similar to trade shows.
• they are carried out on a smaller scale.
• not every company participates in it.
Advertisements
• Demonstration in this category is virtual.
• The customer cannot feel the product
physically.
• Examples: Print ads, Newspaper ads, video
ads, television ads, social media ads.
