This study examines the loan approval process at Bank of Baroda branches in Jamshedpur, India. It analyzes the documents, verifications, and procedures required to grant loans to small and medium enterprise customers. While over 100 loan files were reviewed, limitations included time constraints preventing analysis of all files. Bank of Baroda is India's third largest bank and has several branches in Jamshedpur serving local industrial customers. However, greater awareness of SME loan products needs to be created to address the basic problem of low customer awareness.
