JULIE GUINEY INTERIOR ARCHITECT/ARTIST 087-7604684 HOTEL PROJECT The Concept came from reviewing futuristic techniques, and a sphere was developed into a central integration within the existing building. The sphere was used to create a central walkway and atrium in the hotel. The walkways were designed to link all 6 sides of the building together . Concept: Futuristic The Design developed into a negative sphere which created three atrium areas, the lower ground core area, a 1 st floor café and a 3 rd floor lounge area. This sphere brings a new system to the building and thus making it a unique intervention. The sphere atrium has a central lift and stairs access bringing the customers past the café and lounge before entering there rooms . Developmen t
JULIE GUINEY INTERIOR ARCHITECT/ARTIST 087-7604684 Bedrooms for the hotel design Honeymoon suite The bedroom designs were based on a futuristic design. I achieved this using one main colour and clean white lines. The design had the bathroom and walk in wardrobe separate from the room. Also the room is the honeymoon sweet which has the heart cone chairs by vernon paton. Standard bedroom The second bedroom is the standard bedroom which has neutral colours and only has an ensuite bathroom. The wardrobe space is at the other wall end.
JULIE GUINEY INTERIOR ARCHITECT/ARTIST 087-7604684 The bar and restaurant The futuristic design and one bold colour follows through the bar and restaurant design. The designs are minimal but stand out through the colours. The cubist feel runs through these two spaces making them unique to the rest of cork city. The designs have similar rectangle seating and lighting which I wanted to keep the futuristic design. The bar area and restaurant are easily accessible to each other as they are open plan but the toilet facilities leave a common space between them.
