Argentina is located in southern South America, bordered by Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a varied climate ranging from warm and humid in the north to cold in the south. Spanish is the official language, as Argentina has the largest Spanish-speaking population in the world due to European immigration in the late 19th/early 20th centuries, with over 95% of residents being white with Italian and Spanish ancestry. The current population is around 36 million, nearly half of which live in the province of Buenos Aires.
