1960 Election   “ Getting  America moving again.” The 1960 election was one of the closest in history. Kennedy received 49.7% of the popular vote and 303 electoral votes, while Nixon got 219.

Failures The Bay of Pigs Invasion  was an unsuccessful attempt by the US to invade south-west Cuba and overthrow the Cuban government of Fidel Castro.
Successes   He led the country in the Cuban Missile Crisis, a U-2 spy plane flew over Cuba and revealed that there were soviet nuclear tipped missiles aimed at the US.  He was quick to act as he did not know when the attack would take place.
