A preposition of place is a small word that is used to
refer to a place where something or someone is
located. There are mainly three prepositions of place,
at, in and on.
Also we will see some extra prepositions of place so we
can give directions and talk about the placement of
things.
We use the preposition “at” when we want to discuss a certain point.
For example.
I am at school
I am at the supermarket.
The exact spot where the person is , is not mentioned but we do
know the name of the location where he is.
Types of places
At college At the mall
At home At my house
At reception At the park
At school At the restaurant
At the cinema At the pool
We use the preposition “in” when we want to discuss about an
enclosed place, the four walls of a room.
For example.
I am in the classroom 203.
I am in the bedroom.
For example we can say that a person is at the house but if we want
to be more specific about in which room, we could say in the
bathroom.
Types of places
In the sky In the building
In the living room In the garden
In the bedroom In the store
In the bathroom In the fruit aisle
In the classroom In the dinner room
In the kitchen In the office
We use the preposition “on” when we want to discuss about a
surface.
For example.
The book is on the table.
The keys are on the bed.
Types of places
On the way
On the radio
On the Wall
On the floor
On the table
On the bicycle
