Prelim Task Evaluation
1) Who did you work with and how did you
manage the tasks between you?
We managed our time by giving everyone job to do
that was left in their responsibility.

Our strength in this area was our communication,
as a group we communicated well together,
allowing each other to put our views across.
Our only weakness was our missing story board. It
took a lot of time to find an alternative and next
time we will leave our story board in our own
hands.
2) How did you plan your sequence? What
process did you use?
we had to think about the shots we were using
When planning our sequence we had to keep it as
basic as possible
We then decided to use 12 shots maximum using
shots which, will demonstrate our filming skills.
3) What technology did you use to complete
the task, and how did you use it?
We used professional Cannon HD cameras which
came with a tripod.
we got the tripod at the sufficient height we needed
The software we used to edit our film was adobe
premiere.
4) What factors did you have to take into
account when planning, shooting and editing?
We took our location into account.
We decided to shoot outside as well as the inside.
We had test our shots before shooting in order for it
to be perfect.
5) How successful was your sequence?
It went smoothly and came out better than how we
wanted.
The only thing that I think should be done
differently was our dialogue
Next time we will take our time and will not allow
our nerves to get the better of us.
6) What have you learnt from completing the
task?
I learnt that I excel when working in a group.
Our management skills were good because we were
all managers.
Our technical skills are very good because, we
could apply what we learnt from practice into our
production
7) Post production - What did you
learn about the editing process? How
did you make decisions while editing?
How did you plan your time to
complete the editing task? What were
your strengths and weaknesses in this
area? What would you do differently
next time?

Editor's Notes

  • #3 I worked withLeutrim, Esther and Kanwal. We managed our time by giving everyone job to do that was left in their responsibility, this allowed us to avoid any problems that would delay our filming. The only problem we had was that our story board went missing, we then had to use another groups story board which, was similar to our original story board. Our strength in this area was our communication, as a group we communicated well together, allowing each other to put our views across. Our only weakness was our missing story board. It took a lot of time to find an alternative and next time we will leave our story board in our own hands.
  • #4 Because it was our first time filming we had to think about the shots we were using, seeing as some shots required the camera to be off the tripod. When planning our sequence we had to keep it as basic as possible without getting carried away. To plan our sequence we used a story board, before we started to draw up our story board, we discussed what we wanted to put in it as a group we also wrote up a mini script of what was going to be said, so than there wasn’t any slip ups. We then decided to use 12 shots maximum using shots which, will demonstrate our filming skills.
  • #5 We used professional Cannon HD cameras which came with a tripod. After setting up the camera and tripod, we got the tripod at the sufficient height we needed also, we made sure the spirit level was in the middle which indicated that the camera was level. When using the camera, we had to make sure that we put in the battery the right way to avoid it from getting stuck in the camera and also waiting patiently for the cassette holder to go down into the camera before closing the cassette door. The software we used to edit our film was adobe premiere.
  • #6 We took our location into account. We decided to shoot outside as well as the inside, we had test our shots before shooting in order for it to be perfect.
  • #7 Our sequence was very successful, it went smoothly and came out better than how we wanted. The only thing that I think should be done differently was our dialogue, me and kanwal seemed very nervous and slightly rushed it so, next time we will take our time and will not allow our nerves to get the better of us.
  • #8 From this task I learnt that I excel when working in a group, communication was key in our group. Our management skills were good because we were all managers, we were able to take control of different situations. I also learnt that our group was extremely organised because we appointed role to one another before we had to film allowing us to start staright away. Our technical skills are very good because, we could apply what we learnt from practice into our production.
  • #9 I did not get the chance to edit our film.
