2. La evaluación de la vía aérea y su manejo es una habilidad fundamental que
todo medico debe tener, y esta enfocada principalmente en detectar
elementos que sean indicativos de una ventilación difícil y posteriormente
una intubación difícil. Lo cual permitirá tomar las medidas correspondientes
para su manejo.

Vía aérea difícil :Es aquella
situación clínica en la cual un
anestesiólogo con
entrenamiento convencional
experimenta dificultad para la
ventilación de la vía aérea
superior con una mascarilla
facial, dificultad para la
intubación traqueal o ambas.
Ventilación difícil: Se
define como la incapacidad
de un anestesiólogo
entrenado para mantener
la saturación de oxigeno
mayor del 90 por ciento
usando una mascarilla
facial con una fracción
inspiratoria de oxigeno del
100 porciento
6. Intubación difícil: Se define
como la necesidad de tres o
mas intentos para la intubación
de la tráquea o mas de 10
minutos para conseguirla
