2. PRC COMPASSION is an inter-denominational cooperative network of more than 500 churches and ministries that was formed in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In the face of that crisis a group of pastors and ministry leaders, who were already close friends, realized that with the devastation of Katrina’s landfall they would be provided an unprecedented opportunity – “To Serve Our Neighbors.” Expanding on their existing relationships, these pastors determined to make a difference in the lives of the millions of people affected. Since that beginning the Lord has allowed PRC Compassion to continue to serve and bring “hope within reach” in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, California and Peru. Today PRC Compassion’s four-fold mission is: Local Church-Led Disaster Response Connecting Spiritual Leaders with State Leaders Walk-the-Earth Relationships Pastoral & Church Resourcing PRC Compassion - Louisiana 2009 “Hope Within Reach!”
