Marshmallow is the 6th version of Android that was released in October 2015. It focuses on improving the user experience from the previous Lollipop version. New features include USB Type-C for faster charging, Now on Tap for contextual information without leaving apps, improved permission controls, and better battery management through Doze. Fingerprint scanners are also better integrated and volume controls allow for priority modes and automatic interruptions settings. While changes are smaller than previous updates, Marshmallow makes needed improvements over Lollipop.
