PRAN-RFL Group is one of the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh. It is the
largest agro producer in Bangladesh. PRAN (Programme for Rural Advancement
Nationally) was established in 1981 by retired Major General Amjad Khan
Chowdhury.PRAN has become one of the largest food and beverage brands in
Bangladesh and has been exported to 138 countries Pran pioneered agro business
in Bangladesh. They provided farmers with guaranteed prices.Pran Foods, a sister
concern of PRAN-RFL Group produces a number of agro products under the
banner of PRAN. Pran established a subsidiary company in UAE in 2003.In 2008,
the company announced plans to open a production facility in Tripura, India, after
the Indian government lifted the ban on direct investment from Bangladesh in
2007.Prans exports had reached 10 billion taka value by 2016, the biggest markets
for the company was India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Malaysia, and Oman. The same
year the revenue for Pran exceeded 500 million USD.Pran started exporting
potatoes in March 2016 In April 2016, Pran started to export cassava, the first
shipment, worth 3 million USD, was exported to New Zealand. Pran has 80
thousand direct employees and 200 thousand indirect employees.Pran exports to
118 different countries.

Process flow of organisation: The process flow of the production unit of the
organisation is broadly divided into two parts: Primary Unit & Secondary Unit
Primary:
● Local Bamboos are obtained, followed by separating the bamboos on the
basis of watermarks, followed by wetting and crosscutting, splitting, knot
removing and crushing.
Secondary Unit:
● Boiling (Using Hydrogen peroxide),Carbonizing( starch is removed to avoid
termide attacks),drying, glue dipping, drying , compressed to form moulds,
demoulding, edge cutting, sanding, followed by Tongue and groove process
or joining logs to form different items , followed by the finishing stage of
polishing and UV coating.
After production, all furniture items and decorative items are displayed in
the showroom and for major purposes of flooring and wall paneling,
proposals are sent to or invitations (orders) are received from different
institutions, organizations and individual customers.
Online portals are also available for orders like- www.tradeindia.com,
www.bamboowood.in etc.

● out of a mass range of Bamboo species, 110 species are found in India , out
of which 10 species are found in Tripura.
● The greatest achievement is to empower bamboo farmers in Tripura who
have built a steady livelihood through this endeavour.

PRAN (Programme for Rural Advancement Nationally) was established in 1981 by retired Major General Amjad Khan Chowdhury.PRAN has become one of the largest food and beverage brands in Bangladesh and has been exported to 138 countries Pran pioneered agro business in Bangladesh. They provided farmers with guaranteed prices.Pran Foods, a sister concern of PRAN-RFL Group produces a number of agro products under the banner of PRAN. Pran established a subsidiary company in UAE in 2003.In 2008, the company announced plans to open a production facility in Tripura, India, after the Indian government lifted the ban on direct investment from Bangladesh in 2007.Prans exports had reached 10 billion taka value by 2016, the biggest markets for the company was India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Malaysia, and Oman. The same year the revenue for Pran exceeded 500 million USD.Pran started exporting potatoes in March 2016 In April 2016, Pran started to export cassava, the first shipment, worth 3 million USD, was exported to New Zealand. Process flow of organisation: The process flow of the production unit of the organisation is broadly divided into two parts: Primary Unit & Secondary Unit Primary: ● Local Bamboos are obtained, followed by separating the bamboos on the basis of watermarks, followed by wetting and crosscutting, splitting, knot removing and crushing. Secondary Unit: ● Boiling (Using Hydrogen peroxide),Carbonizing( starch is removed to avoid termide attacks),drying, glue dipping, drying , compressed to form moulds, demoulding, edge cutting, sanding, followed by Tongue and groove process or joining logs to form different items , followed by the finishing stage of polishing and UV coating. After production, all furniture items and decorative items are displayed in the showroom and for major purposes of flooring and wall paneling, proposals are sent to or invitations (orders) are received from different institutions, organizations and individual customers.
